There is a new coach for a day for the game against Texas A+M. Right now, the bid is only at $160. I think we need to get more people getting excited about stuff like this. Let's get another CF "coach"

I'm surprised McDermott has no problem with these gimmicks. If I were coaching there's no way this would be going on and especially not multiple times in a season. He must be a good sport. I can't imagine like Bobby Knight letting people be coach for a day and have all that access.

It's really not bad as far as a distraction. It's more of a sit and watch kind of thing and it brings in a little extra money for the program - although not a heck of a lot this season.

A program isn't built on one player and it doesn't succeed because of one player, thus a program won't fail if it doesn't get that one player. |

Right...the access is fantastic - don't get me wrong. But it's not like there is a ton of interaction with the players/coaches.
It is well worth it though, something I plan to do again sometime.

I would do it again in a heartbeat.
As for an intrusion to Coach Mac, he only had to deal with us once and that was a walk by thank you with a handshake.

One other thing, 22 and myself are 1-0 as head coaches. The other 2 can't say that. | | |

Where do you get to sit during the actual game for this thing?

Thanks to Ryan.

Thanks to Ryan. That seems kinda stupid to me that they wouldn't give you better seats than the balcony. I know these are goin for less than $200 right now, but even that should be worth getting better seats if your adding to that Athletic Department's funds...

We were told it is up to the ticket office and what they have left.
I do agree with you that lower level seats should come with the bid.

They're at the mercy of the ticket office for those, as far as the actual tickets.
But Ryan and Ron Smith made it clear we wouldn't have to sit up there.
They really can't give us tickets in Cyclone Alley, but we sat there and Jeremy sat there when he lost his debut as ISU coach - so that should give you an indication where they prefer to put folks for this.

There was at least a little interaction, because when Oklahoma State closed the gap late and we called a timeout, I specifically noticed Coach Mac looking over at the lower corner of Cyclone Alley and gesturing like he needed some advice!! It must have worked because we went on to win the game!

I still have to say that the coaching I put in when I was the coach for the Minnesota game is what helped us go on the mid season run - it just took them a while before the realized what I was saying was the right way |
A program isn't built on one player and it doesn't succeed because of one player, thus a program won't fail if it doesn't get that one player. |

For aught I care, you ought to be able to spell things however you'd like, right?
