I think I35 from Des Moines was worse on the way up than it was coming back. Couldn't see the lines at times but they had it more cleared by the time the game was over.
This morning is a mess in the metro. Stupid work... Had to take some detours because of vehicles stuck at intersections. This is the one thing that irks me and I saw it happen last night. When you are going up a hill DON'T SLOW DOWN! You have to maintain a reasonable speed in the crap else you'll just spin. One guy last night had his car all jacked around cuz he didn't make it up a hill so everyone behind him had to back up and turn around.
Last night was cake. We left about 15 minutes earlier than we normally do but we also stopped and picked up something to eat. I think we were home earlier than we have ever been though. 35 south on the way home was totally fine. The only game that has had seriously tough driving conditions was the Iowa game.
I love listening to people freak out about the roads every time it snows. We live in Iowa, it snows like this every year.
We left DSM around 5:50 (5:30 was the plan but due to weather not everyone made it to the meeting spot on time) and I bet we didn't go 35-40 mph most of the way up because we couldn't see the center lines on the pavement. On the way back though was a lot better.
