Also, Mike Taylor didn't have Will Blalock next to him that he could have been deferring to.

That being said, I am done with arguing whether Gmac runs a more disciplined system than Wayne, because quite frankly, anyone who knows a little bit about basketball can easily see that.

Doesn't matter..You pulled out one game where Wayno let Curt have a horrible game, but I pull out at least 3 games where GMac let Mike T or Jiri. Overall, Curt had a higher shooting % than Mike T.

I totally disagree...I would say McDermott runs a more deliberate type of offense...not necessarily a more disciplined one.

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes.

I'm not even arguing that point. I was just saying that if you're going to pull out a stat like that to make your point, you should make sure you are checking other facts that might make your point moot. I know you know so much about basketball, but I so do I. And I also know facts.

And actually, without looking at the stats, it would be my sense that the number of shots taken by the entire team on average was probably much higher under Morgan than it is under McDermott. I would think it is quite possible that 26 shots under Morgan was a lower percentage of total shots taken than the 23, 18, or 15 under McDermott.

    Wayno's last year: 1924
    GMac last year: 1705

And thanks Snow! I appreciate that!

Oh, and saying he had a "scrawny, puny, girlie-man upper body." Maybe that one was a joke.

Maybe these aren't direct rips on the kid, but your pattern of sarcasm about him and the sheer number of posts you have telling us how you think he's not going to pan out makes me wonder if he smothered some of your pet kittens or something.

Re: A couple Gripes on McD's Style

That's my point - he is continually degrading to the kid, and to other posters. Who freaking cares if people are getting overly excited about him? Frankly I'd rather have that 10 times out of 10 over #1's dropping the knowledge on us about how he's a total project when he's never seen him play.

I've said I a lot of times I don't expect much out of him next season. But I would HOPE that he would do well and I would especially hope people on this board would spare him the indignity of being harshly judged prior to his ever setting foot on campus. Are we cyclone fans or not?

His name is on the dotted line, he's coming here whether people think he's a good prospect or not.

Re: A couple Gripes on McD's Style

Wayne's first two teams did NOT play hard and disciplined on a consistant basis...go back and look at the results if you don't believe me...I also have to agree with Craig...anybody that knows ANYTHING about the x's and o's of basketball, that doesn't have blind loyalty to a person, knows that debating who is a better coach between McDermott and Morgan is just clueless...Ask any D1 coach around, or any team's opposing players who is a better coach between the two. I have talked to numerous high level coaches and opposing players, but will not name name's for their sake, but they had some pretty interesting comments on the difference of playing ISU under Morgan compared to McDermott...This is not rocket science folks, it's common sense and knowledge of the game....I pride myself on not making public comments on things I don't have a good knowledge of, and I suggest some people on here do the same...I realize this is a public message board, but wow!
