Wan't to talk about bad? I clicked over to espn2 during a break in action and Hampton's playing. What are they showing in the 20 seconds I was over there? Tinsley's missed layup. I'm going to get drunk now.

Thompson deserves to start over Brackins at this point. Craig has been trash on defense, which is one thing AT can do. If Craig can't score, it seems like it should be an easier choice.

While I think our poor decisions in OT cost us this game, I think the refs were horrible. Definitely not Big 12 level. Ruthven church league level-maybe.

I almost had the feeling that ESPN must have had something to say in that they wanted Texas coming in hot for their game against KU (I'm just guessing that it's going to be on ESPN). Horrible job out of all of them...somehow TX plays up in your face D the whole game and comes out with less fouls than us?? Constant slapping the entire game, just play on boys!!

I think they might be calling another foul on Bryan Peterson right now!

Seems like he gets singled out a little bit extra, like he's a dirty player or something (which, of course, he isn't).

6th place in the Big Twelve is currently 3-5. We're only a half game out of being in the top half of the conference. Kinda sucks that had we won today would be in that spot and close to 5th, but there's still plenty of time left for this team to make a run. We just need to keep playing solid defense and have a few things go our way on offense and we're right there. We could easily go 5-2 over our last 7 games, but we could also go 0-7. I would not be surprised by either.

He's not dirty, he's just not quick enough to keep up so he tries to make it up with his hands and body... All the fouls on him were legit fouls...

    Re: Texas Post Game

The refs didnt cost the team in OT they cost the team when ISU was up by 10 or so. Most of the calls went UTs way. The calls that got me was when BP was called for causing a little contact and his defender fell down, the other was when he got the 5 sec call and he had guys all over him. When ISU was playind D that way they were getting fouls called.

McD said after the game he wanted DG to shot those 3s at the end if he was open, he went on to say its was his (McDs) fault for DG taking them, but McD said you have to show you believe in you players at some point. He also said Wes still isnt 100%, so take that as you will.

Remember Craig has been playing against some pretty big dudes too. The KU, Texas, KSU, TAMU bigs are all huge.

I was kind of kidding. It seems like they notice him a little more. Maybe that is the quickness thing.

    1. I used to cringe when AT took the floor. Today I realized I no longer consider him a liability. Good minutes, Alex.

    2. Brackins looks bad on both ends, especially defense. I agree with the earlier statements about him riding pine for awhile.

    3. Diante and Sean both looked like they belong on a Big XII floor today.

    4. Most calls favored Texas but I won't remember this game as the one the refs lost for us.

    5. How about Rahshon's effort today?!? The block and dunk, (which I'm dying to see again) to me, make his career top 10 highlight reel.

Exactly. Just would have been nice to see an evenly called game. We couldnt play physical hands defense (like you should be able to) and they were.

Though it's unclear to me how you have both of these statements in the same post, I think I understand where you are coming from.

The officiating was inconsistent, and therefore, poor. The officials were just not calling the same game on different sides of the floor.

Texas was allowed to play tough defensively by pushing and hammering constantly, then got picked up on "ticky-tack" calls later in the half. Understandably, they confused and upset the foul when it was called.

Officials then called it very tight consistently on the defensive end for ISU, though the clones were doing an excellent job of not reaching and moving their feet.

I tend to think the foul total supports my thought (though at the end of the game it appeared to began to level out to 20-15). We got 7 fouls much more quickly then they did.

As a friend put it best, I wish we could say that ISU lost to Texas. Instead, the game was lost to the (3) Big 12 officials.

    ---

Great defense by ISU. They get better every week. I'm excited to see the next game!

Agreed on all counts. Right now I'd start DG, WJ, RC, AT and JH. I NEVER thought I'd want Alex to start.

One of the officials was Paul Janssen....he's been doing big 8/12 games for years, so I trust he knows what he's doing. It felt like we were getting hosed, but maybe I was getting caught up in the emotion of the game.

Thought we played better, I was alarmed to hear postgame that we shot 38%.....are we just that bad of a shooting team? In our own gym....38%?? I will give credit to Texas' defense, and Abrams, they took the game from us, we didn't give it to them.

    We are HORRIBLE offensively.
