I didn't realize until watching the news tonight that he was wearing a pink tie today and had his team in pink shoelaces.
Said on the news his wife was a 6-year survivor. As much as the game stunk to lose, it seemed like pretty classy competition.

Since McD has coached at ISU Barnes always has good things to say about ISU and never in a backhanded way.

I've never thought he's been that great a coach, because his teams seem to underachieve for the talent they have. They seem to be up and down a lot winning some good games, but losing some they should not.

That being said, I've always thought he's been pretty classy guy. Respectful of other teams and their fans.

I still remember being at a Texas game back in the Fizer days when he came to Ames and we kicked their butt. He looked up at the crowd and I really think he was awe struck how loud we were.

That pink idea was a great one to raise breast cancer awareness. It did drive me crazy though because I kept thinking there was something wrong with the tv before remembering it was the pink night.

You do realize that this pink deal to raise awareness of breast cancer is a national thing...not just an ISU thing...don't you?

Last year, there were something like 150 teams doing the "think pink" campaign across the country, this year there is something close to 750+ participating. The college I work at has jumped on board this year as have many others. I think it is a great thing for college teams to participate in. Definitely shows that there are more important things in life than sports.

I have always thought of Texas as one of the classiest teams in the Big 12. That is pretty impressive considering the talent and high level of play they have year in and year out. It would be pretty easy for them to become cocky and arrogant, but I have never noticed that about them.

The pink was great....my eyes kept seeing pink, to the point that I thought our uniforms were pink on TV.

I love the fact the teams are raising awareness about breast cancer. The day of the texas game, about 10 of us in the DECA organization at Ames High went out to the local grocery stores and set up stands with brochures and pens, etc., to try and raise awareness. We made over 2,000 dollars in donations on saturday.

Texas and Barnes have been a very classy organization since Rick came there. His times are always top-notch, and well coached I always root for them in NCAA tourney's.

The Pink out was crazy it was so pink for a moment i swore the ISU jerseys were pink but that was just the reflection. Awesome job on the Pinkness.
