im sorry but it needs to be said
Brackins could possibly be the most overrated freshman at ISU. I thought G-Mac should of seen what CJ or someone could do just to give Brackins a rest. Ofcourse he has tons of talent and potential, but needs to bulk up and choose shots wisely. Id love to see him go off in upcoming games and make me eat my words.

Re: im sorry but it needs to be said
I wouldn't say the most overrated... however I think he needs to realize he is a PF and play as so. Crash the boards, provide an inside scoring presence, go to the hoop strong in order to get the other team in fould trouble etc. The Baylor game may have been a bad gaem for his development he is consistently sitting on the 3-point line now looking for a shot.

And we said the exact same thing about Fizer at this point. And then he blew up his sophmore year. Plus we have no guards to actually get him the ball in a postion to score. Diante started really slow, and now is starting to shine. Give it some time.

Come on guys...he's a freshman and the most highly rated in school history. This guy will lead us to success. Give us a decent shooter and point guard and we're in the top of the pack. Don't blame Brack. We just don't have all the pieces yet.

Re: im sorry but it needs to be said
I was just thinking that he's much better than Taggert at the same point in time (probably not fair because Taggert was sick) and better than Fizer when he as a freshman.
The other thing I was thinking about was that I believe the year before our run to the Regional final we weren't very good, and adding a creator at point guard solved the puzzle.

I like most of what I'm reading here.
It just takes time. Let's be patient. It's going to be just fine -
Re: im sorry but it needs to be said
I should say, I do a lot of teaching and training, and it's hard for people (the ones being trained, too) to see progress when they're in the process. But, the growth doesn't happen without the time to learn and develop, which tends to involve making mistakes. A lot of those are mistakes where the person really does know better, but just makes that mistake because they fall back into their natural, untrained response.
Sorry, getting ready to teach this morning. Got a little excited there...........

Re: im sorry but it needs to be said
Brackins will be a force next year. I just don't know if he will bring us what we need down low. He almost seems like a guard trapped in a big mans body.
I think if ISU wants to see success then we need a true post player with Brackins playing as the 4 man and letting him playing both inside and out.
Brackins could be very hard to deal with in the future if he can take his man to the hole everytime. He will cause some match up problems b/c there are not a lot of 6-10 guys that have handles. So my point is that we are still a true post player short and that we need to be patient with CB. He will be unstoppable in the future. We just have to give him some time.
Make sure you don't call the charge. But make sure you call the foul on the scrum.... -

I think coaching of big men is lacking here

Diante is showing great improvement already, and he really adds that penetration element to the offense when he's on the floor. But damn, he really needs to hit the weights.
Brackins is a great talent. He just needs time to develop into his role as a bigman. It takes time!

If you watched Jiri at all under Morgan, you would see that Morgan has made him 3x the player he was then. If Craig improves under GMac at the same rate Jiri did, he will be something really special. G-Mac is a heck of a coach of big men.

Re: im sorry but it needs to be said
Sorry to bring everyone down, I do not have hope for this program. You have to try and lose a 13 point second half lead at home (IN HILTON FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!)
No post season this year and I give ISU a 20% next year. Things are not looking good at Hilton right now. I sure hope JP has a solid BB coach in his back pocket. JP, in my eyes is 50%. Great job with Cael and football. Not so good with basketball and the logo we all got to "choose."

Re: im sorry but it needs to be said
He can shoot. However, when he misses it is always short with not a chance to bounce around on the rim Not good. Better to overshoot and hope to bank in.
He needs to learn to block out people better real soon for KSU and KU. Or AT will get more time.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style.
