IMO, he is. Any thoughts?
The last two games he has.
No doubt. Brackins has been awful lately
Yeah, the last two-three games he definitely has. Although less is asked of AT so I think that factors in a little bit. People expect Brackins to score 12-15 pts and grab 5-7 boards while people expect a couple energy plays out of AT and for him not to screw up. Makes a difference on how we view how a guy is playing. AT is in his 4th year in a division 1 program and Craig is in his 4th month. Makes a difference and were seeing it first hand.
yes he is, but i really dont think people need to be on CB's rear cuz he is going through a slump.. i think he will get going again soon and everyone will be happy again.. and AT is playing really well and that is a good thing, now we just need everyone to be playing well at the same time and we will be set
Which player on our team is currently not playing better than Brackins? Not trying to be a major slam because I know he's a freshman and working hard. I'm sure Craig would tell you the same thing. He's not playing well right now.
Brackins has just hit the freshman wall. He will be ok later.
Brackins killed us yesterday, the second half alone he had multiple missed assignments, missed bunnies, and not a single box out on a rebound to be seen.
I'm not sure whats going on but AT was way better than Craig yesterday.
That's all yesterday of course, without my crystal ball handy I guess Brackins will become and probably already is much better that Thompson ... he just didn't have it yesterday.
Have we beat this topic into the cold snow covered ground enough yet?
It may do Brackins some good to sit beside the coaching staff at the start of a game just so he can see what is going on and get coached on what he needs to do. Then maybe he will be better because he is not trying to catch up and he is getting coached when he is fresh.
To clarify, I said playing better. Not who is better. Brackins is clearly the better player, but is definitely slumping. I pose the question because I think Greg has to walk a fine line between lighting a fire under Brackins by sitting him vs destroying his confidence by sitting him.
Wes has missed a TON of easy shots too. No point getting on anyone this season. Not worth it.
Brackins is going to be alright. We are putting WAY too much pressure on him right now. He is a freshman. Let him develop his game. I know we'll see a huge improvement next year. I hope most of it comes from the low block and not behind the arc.
I just got done watching the game about an hour ago (thanks to my DVR). No question for me about it; Thompson is outplaying Brackins right now. Brackins was pretty much worthless against the Longhorns.
However, no matter how talented he is, he is a freshman, and freshman will have games like that sometimes. Unfortunately, his just happened to be against a ranked team we had a good chance of beating yesterday.
Brackins is supposed to be the offensive weapon, Thompson is there for defense. When Brackins isn't hitting his shots, he really hurts us, because he's pretty bad on defense. Right now, I'd start Alex, but that's just me, because I've thought he's done less to hurt us the last few games.
Neither has been that great although I did see Thompson make a nice assist in the Texas game. I can see why people say he has been playing better but I don't think he's been playing more EFFECTIVELY....... And I don't think we can win too many Big 12 games with Peterson and Thompson as starters. They play hard, but so did my intramural under 6 foot league team.
