Seriously, most people think he will be a good shooter in D-1. That's not too much of a stretch in most people's opinion.
Obviously you feel Mac can't evaluate talent at all and has absolutely wasted a scholly on this kid. Time will tell, I guess.
This has never been and indictment of McDermott's recruiting or even of this kid. It has really been meant to bring some small amount of balance to the utter euphoria most on this site have about the kid and what he can do at ISU.

Are any college kids that will eventually play DI guarded by guys like that day in and day out? If they run him off screens and he has a quick release he will have time to shoot.

Bottom line is, if you can't support our players, current or future, then you are not wanted here. Go away.

This is getting very, very old.

I assume you mean HS kids rather than "college kids". Your insinuation is correct but I would submit that the quality of opponents that young Eikmeier is seeing in Nebraska HS BB is far different than someone playing HS ball in say Chicago, or New York, or Detroit, or Dallas, or LA...I hope you get my point.

How much bashing of a future Cyclone does it take before guy gets banned around here?

Ever heard the expression two wrongs don't make a right? It applies to this situation as well. You're not providing balance by going out of your way to find negative things about a recruit. You're just bashing a future cyclone. It's lowbrow at best and completely unnecessary.
If you want to provide balance, then maybe you should start by balancing your own opinion. Objectively, Eikmeier looks to be a sharpshooter who needs to bulk up and can hopefully contribute a few years down the road, if not sooner. Take him for what he is, don't make him the object of your private crusade.

It's getting old? #1's antics regarding Ike have BEEN old for what is going on MONTHS now. I know this will probably get filtered or I'll get banned, but he's been such a ******* ******* regarding this kid it's unbelievable. Sorry for being interested in what a future Cyclone is doing. I'd much rather ******* ***** over and over and over about how the competition is not top notch that he's playing.
You're right, I didn't get it the first THOUSAND times you posted it. This one finally hit home.

Really, I think this is about feeding your (rather enormous) ego.

I really haven't seen any 'BASHING', just someone who is skeptical. The only 'bashing' is everyone's reaction to Cyclone#1

I love it!
So reporting that Eikmeier scored 4 points is "bashing" but reporting (over and over) that Eikmeier is averaging 30+ per game and "is the fastest person I have seen this year with the ball in his hands" is just stating the facts...not being overzealous about the talents of the kid.
Please!

Are you kidding? You want to be skeptical, fine. I have openly said I don't think Ike is going to come in and be a impact player right away, but there is no place for his sarcasm degrading Wes. He almost sounds happy that Wes had an off game. That is the kind of fan we can do without.
Re: What...no report on Eikmeier after the 2/9 "gamewatch"?
It's one thing to point out after he scores 32 (or 59 or whatever) in a game that the competition in the Big 12 will be tougher. Everyone knows that - we aren't stupid - but if you want to keep bringing it up then whatever.
It's another to specifically point out that he only scored 4 in a game. HIS TEAM WON THE GAME BY 23 POINTS. He can score 4 points every single game for the rest of his career and if he never loses a game again he is a great player. His team is having a great season. He is clearly a competitor and a winner. He was named the best player in Nebraska last year. He is a Cyclone. That last bit should really be all it takes.

Can this thread be closed? It had gotten rather ugly rather quickly.
