Lets not forget how bad the players must feel

I know it is hard being a fan right now, but those players feel 100 times worse than you or I do right now. They give it their all for 12 months out of the year. It is not their fault things before them happened. Many are playing before they are ready and some are playing because there is no one else to play. They are all in a tough place right now. It is a long season and I am sure they all are tired and want to win BAD. We do have a good group of guys and you can see how bad they feel after a game like this. There is only so much players and the staff can do to win. Some players are maxed out on what they can and cannot do you cannot make some players jump higher, handle the ball better, make the ball go through the hoop, be strong enough. Things happen and some players are maxed out on what they do. No coaching that can over come a much more talented team. They just need to get more talent to Ames and that will take a few years.

I'm not an expert on sports, but I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night

Re: Lets not forget how bad the players must feel

While I do agree with you on the players wanting to win bad, good coaching can overcome a much more talented team, but it is getting the players to execute to put themselves in better position to overcome that talent gap that will help this team will.

But I know the players are working hard and it is just not happening.

And that is why I don't make negative comments about the team (publicly), no matter how frustrating nights like tonight may be. I'm still seeing some great team chemistry, which is definitely a bright spot for me. And then there are guys like Rahshon who have been totally committed to ISU from day 1, and truly deserve a much better season. It is a shame, but that's the life of a Cyclone.

Oh... people will come Mr. Pollard. People will most definitely come.

No, I don't live in Seattle anymore, I'm back in Des Moines but I don't feel like changing my username.

I couldn't agree more with SeattleClone about Rahshon. He gives the Cyclones an amazing effort day in and day out. I can only imagine what he could be doing this year surrounded by a mature group. I just hope he realizes how much everyone appreciates him keeping his head up.

Obviously Wesley is still injured. Kudos also to Jiri. If he was just sitting back we would have lost by 10 more than we did.

This team deserves nothing short of winning the entire big 12 tourney and dancing...

THey play good defense, they can get the ball up court, their fouls are ticky tack, they handle the ball okay, but rebounding is worse than last year and shooting youvh has disappeared. We need under pressure shooters in the worse way. Has anyone seen so many 2 ft shots clank off the rims for a team before?
