About a third of the All-Century team didn't show. Those are the guys that I'd bag on. beechum actually played in the barry stevens game this summer. he might not have been able to attend this game for some reason.

Beechum is playing in Europe. I met his wife while at a bar a summer ago in Phx. She saw my ISU shirt and asked if I went.

Sure, the way he left didn't feel great to us, but his mentor was being fired. I'm pretty sure I would've wanted to leave, too.

The way most of the guys looked during the alumni game they probably needed the 25+ per roster. There were a lot of guys that looked really tired really fast.
How about that Cappicallo? (sorry for the abusive spelling he was before my time) that guys was 50 years old and looked like he could play right now.

It's nice to see Loren Meyer could stop tending bar for a night to come back and play. Don't get me wrong. Meyer was one of my favorites to watch. I have his autograph and basketball card somewhere. Last I knew he was tending bar in a small Iowa town.
Where is Horton? I bet he can still bomb 3s What about the guy who played in the 30's? He only played a minute and needed a ladder to make a shot. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!?!? Lets get some guys who can actually play in there. Maybe we should be more selective with that thing.

He also wasn't on the game program (like a lot of guys).

the ladder was a "highlight" not a low point I was being sarcastic. It was in response to the guy bashing all the former walkons that were playing.

The idea was to celebrate 100 years of ISU basketball, not to have a competitive game. These old-timers laid the foundation for, despite our recent struggles, is a pretty good program.
We owe them a lot, the least of which is a little boost to hit one last shot in a game.

For the complainers, would you have preferred to have no game to celebrate? I think JP and group did a fine thing.
