I'm done with this argument...I'll hang on to my opinion as I'm sure everyone else will theirs. The bottom line is that everyone wants to win, and hopefully we get there soon.
    Wow,

Two freshman guards, a guy who could shoot, but couldn't guard anyone, a limited post player who could rebound, and Homan, who could block shots, and score a little. No bench to speak of........You're right Wayne should have won the national championship with that team.

You may turn out to be right but as of now, that is pure speculation.

Also, did you watch the Texas game at all? Augustin was contested on almost every shot. Fading away is not a wide open shot.

Some of you guys are ridiculous. It is threads like these that make me wonder why I even come to these boards. LogicalFan, if I understand you correctly, you are arguing for the right to argue? It seems that you like to hear yourself talk (if you could talk through a keyboard, I guess).
Sorry, you are right, I am going to start drinking the kool aid.....I just go by what I have read, and try to be objective about what I see. I need to be positive, and blame Wayne Morgan apparently, no matter how bad this team plays.

Now that I know the rules, I will become a mindless fan like.....well nevermind

Hahaha...wow! Evidently I said they should've won the national title??? All I said is I have a VERY hard time believing the program was at a "all-time low" when that was our starting lineup...The second you quit putting words in my mouth or twisting things I say around I'm done with this argument.

That is more than this team has. 2 good post players both upper classmen, a Sr guard that could shoot lights out, and two 2 strong guards, plus a post player off the bench.

Re: I have SERIOUS doubts about McDermott

I didn't say you had to start drinking the kool aid. I just wondered how you could make assumptions about recruits without ever really seeing them play.

Your description of Morgan's first team is so slanted. You refer to Stinson and Blalock as freshman guards which they were. You leave out the fact that Stinson was a grown man and Blalock was a D1 ready point guard when he came to Ames. Jake Sullivan is one of the best shooters to ever play for ISU. Jackson Vroman played in the NBA. Yeah, Homan could block some shots. He blocked so many he ended up to be ISU's all-time leading shot blocker (save the Cato argument. I'm aware he was only here for two years. That doesn't diminish the fact that Homan was a good inside player) There are 4 guys that play professionally and a member of ISU's All-Century Team. Or as you say, "Two freshman guards, a guy who could shoot, but couldn't guard anyone, a limited post player who could rebound, and Homan, who could block shots, and score a little." I would say that the talent level WM inherited was a little better than what GM received.

No reason to get snippy pal. I just figured it has been going on a long time and both sides are dug in deep.
