5. Clarks change from Morgans system to his. He has improved so much from last year to this and from the start of the season to now.

For those of you who still doubt McD look at what Jiri and Clark are doing after 1 1/2 seasons in this system. The last few game they look so much better and more confortable out there. They are also playing on another level.

I'm not an expert on sports, but I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night

13, Is Rahshon ok? Looked kind of serious when he went down on NU's last possesion. After the game Sean was helping him off the court. I wasn't sure if Rahshon was hurting or if he was just exhausted after playing all those minutes at power forward. BTW, he looked pretty comfortable playing inside.

Maric misses an awful lot of short shots. I noticed he missed a lot that we absolutely crucify guys like AT for.

He has a bump on his head the size of a golf ball! It's huge! I guess Jiri elbowed him in the head and it kind of disoriented him for awhile. Said he was real dizzy and had a headache. He came home and went straight to sleep, so I hope he doesn't have a concussion or anything. He's tough though, so he'll be ok.

And he played the 4/5 in high school, and played the 4 a lot his freshmen and soph years here at ISU, so he is used to playing the 4. I actually like him better down there.

Keep an eye on him, that concussion stuff is sneaky and scary!

Harriet Michaels: Do you actually like haggis?
Charlie Mackenzie: No, I think it's repellent in every way. In fact, I think most Scottish cuisine is based on a dare.

Agreed. I'm sure the training staff checked him out and would've cautioned him not to go to sleep if he had a concussion, but I want him to have a strong finish to his senior season!

Patrick who?

Re: ISU-Husker Post Game Thread

well he has til tues to get feelin better right? i think thats what coach said on the radio

Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative.

ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."

Hopefully it's just a bump. I had a concussion in college, and it took me a month to really be close to recovered. (I still went to class, though!)

Of course, the Domino's guy that delivered my pizza that day might not be recovered yet!

Concussions are of varying severity too, I got one in high school playing some helmetless and padless football but it was pretty mild and I recovered completely in two or three days.

Re: ISU-Husker Post Game Thread

I just got home from Ames (just as it started raining in Des Moines... whew!)... but I haven't gotten to voice my opinion about the game...

Talk about the Colorado game, take 2. I thought I had seen the lowest of the lows when our guys scored 15 against the mighty Buffaloes a few weeks ago, but 11? Lord Almighty.

Can't say enough about the crowd though. It probably had to do with something about recognizing the best Cyclone players in history, but whatever -- there were people around me kept chattering about leaving after halftime, and they all stayed put, probably creating (in my opinion) one of the most emotional second half comebacks I've seen at Hilton. I thought there was no way our guys could let the throng of basketball alumni down who had come back to celebrate the centennial celebration of ISU basketball... no way. I haven't felt that sort of energy coming from the crowd since the Texas Tech game in 2004-05.

Speaking of halftime, I think the ceremony honoring the all-centennial team was extremely useful as a friendly reminder of what this place use to be. We've been patient with the new coaching staff for almost two full seasons now, and I firmly believe the team is on the cusp of something special. If McDermott was truly a bad coach, I think we lose today to the tune of something like 60-40. It takes a true leader to rally the team after a horrible half and ring up 49 points and win the game.

The team has a week off -- plenty of time to fully recover from the bout of flu that's been going around, and get ready to face the Raiders in Lubbock.

Deep within the heart of Iowa, a storm is brewing...
... the winds of change ripple throughout the vast fields of corn surrounding the small college town of Ames.

The Gene Chizik era of football continues, and, with it, a renewed attitude of pride, determination, and success.

This is Cyclone Football.
