4-5 guys sick and one hurt...what do you expect
Post game GMac said 4-5 of the guys have the flu and one hurt. Seems like they gutted it out to me.

I'm going to go out on a limb and give McDermott some credit for coaching in the second half. I realize Nebraska is not good, but Mariks had made a career out of playing us and we shut him down pretty well I thought.
I thought we made Nebraska look lost on offense and we made some shots. It's amazing how much better the coach is when open shots go down.
Wesley was obviously not even close to himself today. We came from 13 down at halftime with 3 walkons playing valuable roles in the second half, and Brackins watched it all from the bench.
We'll see how he reacts over the next couple weeks

I think that goes to show how McD is as a coach. Our bench players are getting mentally tougher and have come up big lately.

Maybe your SERIOUS doubts should have been about how are players didn't get flu shots. JK It just shows how tough these guys are, and it made the win even that more impressive.

Maybe heads should roll for improper preventative medicine.....

Its a good win, but you are kidding yourself if you don't think every team goes through this over a 6 month season. Great teams and coaches consistently find ways to win and other teams make excuses. Thats life, you don't get bonus points for adversity, champions expect it and don't let it stop them.

The flu hots are worthless this year (75% wrong). They really guessed wrong on the formula for two strains that were not predicted. Expect more people to get flu soon.

4-5 guys sick and one hurt should throw a serious sucker punch to the nose of the McDermott doubters. I'm not even reading that idiot thread because it will just **** me off. This proves we have mental toughness.

Wes and Craig had the flu. Who were the other 3 or 4?

I don't understand this post. Injuries, and sickness are a part of the season.
But the game that I watched today I saw a very poor Nebraska team miss a lot of close in shots. I saw a very poor Iowa State team have two guys that haven't made very many shots this year (Peterson, and Haluska) hit big three's, Peterson to get us started, and Haluska to get us through.
I would assume, after watching Nebraska play that it is more likely that they probably won't miss as many close in shots than having the two walk-on guards make the shots that they did today.
Nebraska is bad, probably pretty even with us. That first half against nearly any other team in the league (Colorado being the exception) has us down 25 at the break. We were fortunate that we were playing another offensively challenged team.
Now nice job by our guys in the second half, I hope that we can see more of Cameron Lee on the court.

It's not easy to play if you are worried about throwing up all over the floor, weak and feeling like crap. I give these guys credit for showing up. The easy route is to not even suit up. We all have to give this team some positives. They haven't quit.

Obviously Wesley was a shell of a shooter on Saturday du to the flu.
Did Lee and Boozer also have the flu?
Who is the player considered injured? Wesley who also had the flu?
