I don't think that there is anything wrong with a fan questioning what is happening with their respective programs. I also don't think that any coach is immune to criticism, nor should they be.
I will not claim any specific knowledge of the game, but if you can watch this team play on the offensive end, and think that there is a tremendous amount of discipline in what we are seeing, I will argue that you are incorrect.
In the second half of today's game, I actually saw Jiri pass the ball out a double team to an open teammate for a three, that was encouraging. However, and I do understand the "limitations" of this team (we hear it enough from Coach Mac), is it too much to ask to reverse the darn ball just once? The man is famous (or infamous) for having a book of 250 offensive plays, yet there is no movement on the offensive end.
Greg is not going anywhere, any time soon (and at this point, he shouldn't), but with the way that our athletic budget is looking at this point, it would certainly lighten his load if he beats one of these big boys that are left on the schedule to give people confidence, and have actual evidence that he can win against the big boys.
I get the sense that he is feeling some pressure due to the way that he has been riding the refs the past three games. He always talked to them, but now he seems a bit more preoccupied with the men in stripes.
Oh, and to call someone idiots, you should probably remember that this basketball program was imploding as early as 2002-2003 under the immense ego of one Larry Eustachy, the success that Wayne Morgan had should not be discredited.........The offenses Wayne ran, and what I have seen from Greg, going back to UNI seem to BOTH lack any semblance of discipline.

I agree with this. I think GMac is feeling the pressure of unrestless fans at this point. He talks about how it's an honor to play for ISU, so he knows that it's an honor to coach here as well, and we all want him to stay and do well, and I think he feels that. He needs to show that he can have more games like today, that he can coach and make half time adjustments that ensure the W. As fans, we need assurance that our coaches have the programs in hand, which is what we lacked with WM, and (IMO) Bobby Douglass and DMac.

I couldn't agree with you anymore! This is what I have been saying for weeks but people mistake it for "FIRE MCDERMOTT". I just want to see this high discipline offense everyone talks about. Everyone knocked WM for his "street ball" offense, but there are a lot of games this year that look like they took a page or 2 from WM's playbook!
Once again, I like McD (better than LE and WM) but I really get frustrated watching this team make the same long range 3 pointer game after game. It will get better, but usually I just want to vent which is what a message board is for, right!? | | |

Dont worry Clones85 some people on this board will always be overly sensitive to spelling and grammar. Its incredibly annoying, but just ignore it. Its generally the older generation who isn't used to just typing casually in conversation/texting.

Not flaming, just curious...what do you consider the "older generation"?

You probably have a point about the casual txtng style of today, but I think some people are just more attuned to spelling and grammar than others, by nature.
