As for my opinion - We played terrible in the first half against Neb. All-around terrible. We did come out in the second half and played like a much better team and won the game when we could easily have folded and been beat by 30. In my opinion that is a positive thing and the staff and players should be complimented for their ability to put the first half behind them and play better and even get a win. This is very well stated and I agree with everything.

No actually, it was in response to everyone claiming that the second half of the Nebraska game somehow validates everything, and that the previous games against some good Big 12 teams somehow don't count because we came back against Nebraska.
Look, I know that we are all supposed to hold hands and sing 60's folk songs about unity, and peace and love. Sorry, I just don't feel it. And, God forbid, you have a different opinion (especially one that isn't all rosey)......
Anyway, here's to hoping that we can at least play well over the last six games.

Nothing. Not even one of those standard "We've reviewed your resume and you're the absolute last person we'd hire. Even if it came down between you and a farm animal, we'd hire the animal as our coach." type of responses.
I'd say we're in trouble, folks.

Just like a team that loses by 30 to an in-state foe they should beat year in and year out. Send those horrible programs packing as well.
Oh...wait.... I thought this was a pretty humorous post
Thanks for lightening the mood, I needed it.

This is EXACTLY what logical is talking of when speaking of hearing way too many let's excuse Danny Mac look alike posts. Remember..it's not like Mac is throwing interceptions, fumbling the football, too small, too slow etc....etc..! And I bet Wayne Morgan would have appreciated this sentiment when Jamie was showing him the door.
Anyway, the long and short of it is.....do you think Johnny, Tim, LE or Wayne could do more with what GMac is working with?

Anyway, here's to hoping that we can at least play well over the last six games. I don't think that your sarcasm is helping you make a point. If anything it makes people respond more contentiously, which is prohibiting any kind of real "discussion," which you claim to want. Now this thread has devolved into attacking each other's motives.

Which is exactly what his goal was, throw darts at the issue to create discourse, rather than a logical discussion. We've seen this game before.
Instead of wrestling with the pig (when you do so, you get dirty and the pig likes it) - just ignore it and/or play along.
It's a lot more funnerest.

The coach should not be directing players where to go or where to pass as the game is occurring...there is something wrong with that. A good coach drills his team and then pretty much let's them play.
He controls substitution patterns during the game so that guys that are putting forth the requisite effort, guys that are having a good night, or guys that are a match-up advantage are in the game as needed. He should also ensure that good out of bounds plays are called coming out of time outs. He should alternate defenses to keep the opponent off balance. He should utilize timeouts to help keep the game in control. That is the type of stuff the coach should be involved with...not directing players where to stand and where to pass.

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes.

Soooo, what do you guys think about the Box-and-One or do you prefer man on man or even zone? I think Greg is too tall to be taken seriously by the front court players and certainly can't relate to the shorter guys on the team! Finally, we need a change because we don't run the box and one enough..
But seriously, someone mentioned that we sound like our neighbors to the east...right on!

Z,
Who has said anything about changing coaches??? I haven't, and I think that there is no way there should be a change. My complaints are on how we play, not the wins and losses.
Now at some point in the next 2-3 years, it will be about the wins, but that isn't the case now. Now it's about playing correctly, and if you have seen that out of this team lately (the second half of the Nebraska game being the exception), then we may just differ on what fundamentals are, and that is fine.
