Fremont Bergan ranked 2nd in State of NE

and 45th in the United States by MaxPreps. An incredible ranking for a school of 300. They play in Districts, Tuesday and Thursday night in Valley at 6:00 pm

Sounds like Drake. Anyone ranked from Iowa in the Preps?

EIU is the other Okoboji University for serious students and home of Captain Kirk who pilots the Enterprise on its Trek through the Universe for finding his next great job. Captain, beware of your Superbowl.

That seems like a nice story. Great for a smaller town to have something to root for during these long Winter months.

I hope that Wes can come in and be an impact player. If not, then I hope he can redshirt, and get stronger.

Well, considering all of the outstanding teams across the nation, to see City High and Ames both in the Top 20 is truly amazing... but trying to rank high school teams nationally? ridiculous in my opinion. This isn't a slam on Iowa kids or Bergan or whoever, just the whole concept of ranking thousands of high schools nationwide bewilders me. Maybe have a national tournament in may with each states largest classification state champs? that would be kind of a cool tourney.

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

I could not agree more. How many HS BB teams are there in the USA? No way to rank them.

However, I can give you an even more ridiculous ranking...I had a guy tell me that his kid's Under 14 Baseball team was third in the country last year...what a joke...so many under 14 teams in the US under so many governing bodies and this guy thinks his kid's team in the third best in the country due to some "ranking"...now that is ridiculous!

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes.

I agree, The rankings don't mean anything nationally, but it is fun when it is your team. I am not even sure the ranking system they use even means that much within the state.

how are team rankings a farce and nonsense yet

player ratings and stars are sacred symbols to be worshiped and are the law?
