Re: The good, the bad, and the ugly
First-half Jiri was good. Second-half Jiri not so much.

Re: The good, the bad, and the ugly
Well yeah... but a lot of that had to do with he couldn't do much post moves because when he turned his head to the basket he would see 2 others waiting on the help side. I never thought at the beginning of the year that Jiri would be getting double teamed virtually every time he touched the ball!

Well there is only one team with a worse Big 12 record than ISU at this point

IMO, a game we totally should have won. Didn't play very good team defense at least 1/3 of the time, if not more.
Offensively, a decent game. Just missed too many easy shots late in the first and especially early in the 2nd half that could given us a "comfortable" lead.
Fun game, yet a very frustrating one to watch at the same time.
At least Jiri, Sean and Petey are stepping up for us on offense - otherwise we lose this one by 20+.

It is a very even conference this year, and ISU has been on the wrong side of close games more often than not. Drake was that way last year. Not saying we will have a Drake type season next year, but a few breaks, more experence, and some talent upgrades and anything can happen.

Re: ISU @ Texas Tech - Post-Game Thread
How about the continued awesome play from Haluska? Petey playing better and giving us points. Jiri a beast on the boards.
I liked seeing that. Wish we could have 3 more years of Jiri. I'd like our chances a lot better with a guy like Jiri on the court.

Re: ISU @ Texas Tech - Post-Game Thread
We have been in a lot of games all year and faded at the end. We probably avg about 25-30 solid minutes per game. We haven't finished very well all year, and also have 1 or 2 bad spells in the rest of the game too.

Re: ISU @ Texas Tech - Post-Game Thread
I think our team is getting close. Haluska obviously isn't going to stay this hot, but he's showing that he can play at this level. Petey looked more comfortable with his shot today than he has all year. I think those back to back 3s against Nebraska helped that.
Of course, now that our team is getting close, we're about to lose two of our best players.

Re: ISU @ Texas Tech - Post-Game Thread
I continue to get the feeling that this team is about to turn the corner. I've seen flashes of what they could be capable of in a year or two, and those flashes have been occurring with greater frequency for the past several games.
Hard to say what I expect out of them versus Kansas this Wednesday. Will KU still have hangover from the OSU game? I think both teams will have a chip on their shoulder (which is especially dangerous with a talent-rich team like Kansas.) However, OSU is much like ISU in terms of talent, and if they can pull it off at home with a great crowd on hand, there's no reason to believe that we can't do the same.

Re: ISU @ Texas Tech - Post-Game Thread
The most frustrating part is seeing this team WITHOUT a player who can step it up to win a game. I dont see that improving next year either. We need a big time baller who will help us win games.
NOBODY on our team is clutch. Hopefully as they grow up they will develop into winners.
Wes J has GOT to step up or sit down if he's not healthy. He has been killing us on the court.

This is the most acurate post on this thread. Nearly every team has SOMEBODY that can hit a shot when they absolutely need it to stay in the game. Not ISU! Most teams have somebody with enough guts to take a charge and make a tough defensive stop occasionaly. Not us. And every team in the history of the game has a player or 2 that can drive to the basket once in a while and make a lay up, instead of sliding out and shooting a short jumper. And some teams have more than 1 player that can go after a rebound instead of waiting for it to come to him. Seems like the fans on here are willing to settle for close game, good effort, moral victories. No thanks!

He left a hole in the line up that is hard to fill with walkons and freshman.
