I remember the days when an overrated KU squad would come to Hilton and as Johny Orr would put it, "We beat their *****." As for Appleton, his loss. He's missing out on a great college experience in Ames. Our guards will be fine next year and I hope coach Mcdermott finds a juco big instead. Very excited to see what Staiger, Buckley, and Eichmeyer will add to this team next year.

Re: Appleton to KS
I was all for a Juco guard because I think we need help in the backcourt more desperately. But now that we have lost out on Appleton, I think it's time to start looking for bigs. Appleton could have helped immediately, and I'm not sure any other guard we're looking at can. So find a big that can.

Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -

Bingo! Time for all the realists to jump in and say, "Told you so!"

I don't see us getting over our "KU envy" any time soon. I'd call it right now more "KU fear." Back when we were respectable/good we had "KU hate" but now that we're sub-par we have "KU fear" in hoping we don't get pasted by 25. I'm usually the biggest proponent of our homecourt advantage but I've come to the realization that Hilton Magic is out for vacation for a while. It doesn't seem to help us at all any more.

Hope our players don't go into the game with the same attitude. That's a huge hurdle to overcome out of the gate. Wonkadog, I think you need to pull your tale out from between your legs.

I'd have to point out that we took UT into OT--and Texas is actually ahead of KU in the standings, in case you hadn't noticed.

Kansas has looked shaky the past few games (especially losing @ OSU), and Texas has just been on a roll. This game looked much more daunting 2 weeks ago. I think we've got a shot at it anyway.
*Edit*
You must spread some reputation around before giving it to Aclone again. Well ain't that a *****.

Re: Appleton to KS
We would have beaten Kansas here last year if we could have hit a stinking free throw or two.

We also scored 11 points in one half against Nebraska and got smacked around by A&M. We are capable of beating the Fat Kats at Hilton if we play like we did for 37 minutes against Texas. We are also capable of getting smoked by them if we play like we did for the first 20 minutes against Nebraska and Colorado.

You must spread some reputation around before giving it to Aclone again. Well ain't that a *****. I have zero confidence in this KU team right now. It would not surprise me at all if ISU pulls off the upset. Things have gotten so bad that Self is going to throw in some zone defense - and he hates the zone. Something has been off since the KSU loss. Turnovers, giving up dribble penetration, poor perimeter shooting - just a few of the major problem areas for this team.
Sorry ISU didn't land Appleton. He looks like a quality player, and I think he can help out right away since we lose half of the team to graduation/draft.
Good luck tomorrow night.
