how many players left when chizik was named coach......
Good question. About the same number? Being realistic, we will not be much better next year. We lose Rashon and Jiri and gain Wes and Lucca and some freshmen. To do better, Craig and Diante and SH need to get much stronger and more aggressive. Who will be our most aggressive person next year? That is one of the knocks on the old UNI teams. When rough and tumble teams played them, the finesse did not work that much unless you played a perfect game. Are we ready to play perfect next year?
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style.

I think it is another reason why UNI faded towards the end of the year every year. When you rely on the jump shot and you start to get tired, you have to do something to overcome that.

I saw McDermott come to Baton Rouge and beat an LSU team that would make the Final Four with his last UNI team.
Sure, Mac was at UNI for a number of years and working with players that he recruited and played their careers under his system.
When Mac got here he was left with Clark, Hubalek, and Johnson that played under "fun and gun" Wayne. How do you expect him to step in right away and win 20 games with that while instilling a new system and no real bench help? I don't care if Mike Kzyzewski or Dean Smith came in, they would be in the same boat. Oh wait, they are proven winners, so that is another story...
Well guess what, so is Mac!! look at his records from his previous schools that have been posted here numerous times. First couple of years, around .500, years after, darn near all 20 win seasons.
