I still don't understand why 5 for 5 can't come back...everyone loved that. You wouldn't think it would be hard to find a sponsor...If ISU can find a bread sponsor to be the "Bread of the Cyclones", they could find someone for 5 for 5.
Exactly...I've been to most of the games in Hilton and I can tell you about 3 or 4 ads I remember seeing: 1) the Pioneer logo on the court, 2) The Barilla ads on the ring (because they are there 1/2 the game), 3) Gratias Free-Throw for Dough. Other than that, that's about it.
Get a sponsor for 5 for 5 and you will have 14,000 people yelling your company's name!
I'm OK with only having a couple good halftime shows a year. I'd rather get some food or chat.
My pet peeve is the timeout sponsorships. The events have no entertainment value (shooting a free throw, college kids competing to make a layup or the burger deal), they're like watching paint dry. But what is worse to me is over half the time out activities- I have NO idea who is sponsoring. If they do ID a sponsor the winner gets chicken scratch. What's the trivia contest winner get? A $25 gift certificate to Applebees?
No sure what type of bucks they are getting for the timeout activities- but I'd rather hear music or the band! Plus most activities are a complete buzz kill to arena atmosphere.
Couldn't agre more... and the Applebees gift certificate at Applebees is only $20 dollars.... you know what that gets you? Free desert. What a waste of time. I'm going to just close my eyes next time to save vision.
Now that MBB is back, do we still have to pretend that WBB matters?
They could just watch America's Got Talent for some fun ideas of people to invite (like that martial arts group that went pretty far.)
The winner wouldn't work out. I'm sure they would want too much. Some of those variety acts could be pretty exciting, and it seems to me that they'd be looking for places to perform with a pretty large audience.
anybody remember the half time show at the Mediacom Classic at Wells Fargo against Ohio State a few years back. It was the hip hop violinist, for some reason that one sticks in my head as good, but the Fargo Acro team is by far the best.
"I feel sorry for people who don't drink. When they wake up in the morning, that's as good as they're going to feel all day".-Frank Sinatra
My guess as to the lack of entertainment.....ISU concessions don't make money on people that stay in their seats for half-time shows.
Then they should keep the concessions open past half time... I went to try and get some food after the first timeout in the second half of the Nebraska game and all the concessions were closed! I understand cutting beer sales off early at pro games but shutting everything down 3 minutes into the second half????
