    Tarheels '09 class

Has anyone seen this? It's just sick! 4 of the top 25 players already committed to UNC.

As a side note, any word on recruit Elijah Johnson? I know the staff was in on him very early but haven't heard a peep since.

You mean you didn't know that they are the Texas or USC of college basketball? Shame on you. Just be glad we don't play in the same conference as them.

in all fairness, they didn't bring in any freshmen this past year because they didn't need any one else.

Must be nice to get a couple of 5* twins (I'm assuming).

I was thinking the same thing one of the top programs in the nation not landing a 5 star. And honestly how does everyone on that team plan on getting equal playing time??

Eh, don't worry - it's a Roy Williams recruiting class that will be under his tutelage for 4-5 years. UNC will somehow manage to blow it (remember KU, anyone?)

It is bad enough that I have to read it in the paper everyday but now it is on here too......It is amazing the crop of players UNC gets, but look at Duke. They don't always get the high profile well known high schoolers but they are in the top 10 most of the time.

There is a difference between UNC Roy and KU Roy. He never wanted to step on Dean's toes, so he didn't recruited the east coast. The moment he arrived at UNC, he basically went on a shopping spree with recruits in the area. But his "every other year" recruiting philosophy still remains.

Granted, but until he actually wins a national championship based on his own recruiting, I still won't be a believer...

Duke can't go after just any 5* kid with a great jump shot and 2.0 GPA, which makes what they do year after year so amazing. They have to have intelligent ball players, both on and off the court.

Zeller, Drew and Davis would seem to imply that it isn't quite "every other year". But how will they play that many post players?

You guys do realize KU is getting the same thing too? Something in the water back in 1990/1991???
    They're 4 star - but still...
