We don't get alot of coverage of high school basketball in the Detroit papers but here is the result of the second round of the Districts (Romulus had a bye in the first round):
Romulus 62, Belleville 34: Dominique Buckley led a balanced attack for Romulus.
Here also is a link to the top four boys and girls Mr. and Miss Basketball candidates in Michigan: ELITE EIGHT: Meet the best boys and girls basketball players in the state | Freep.com | Detroit Free Press . Dominique sounds like a good get for us.

I also agree with the comment above that the guy going to Michigan State is likely to win. He has the numbers (playing on the #1 or #2 ranked team) and he is going to college in the state. Dominique has ended up doing well to get in the final four. Note that one of the players that he shut down as a sophmore was the top competition for one of the other candidates.

If he's a top 4 player out of the state of Michigan, he's a good one!
Glad to hear he seems to be a good kid too.

I really like Buckley's assist stat. He doesn't have as many points as the others, but way more assists per game. That tells me he's unselfish and smart.

This made me excited: He worked with a track coach on his quickness and now has an explosive first step to the basket. He has an excellent feel for the game and is a terrific leader. | | |
