Sullivan and Iowa State
I was reading on Hawkeyenation that Sullivan had some "less than flattering" things to say about McDermott and the coaching staff earlier this year on the radio.
I don't remember that happening, but I'm also ashamed to say I haven't paid as close of attention to the basketball team this season either.
*Its in the thread talking about Harrison Barnes taking a visit to Iowa today to see the church service, er uh, basketball game at Carver.
Exaggeration is a BILLION times worse than understating. -
Re: Sullivan and Iowa State
I recall Jake saying something to the effect that McDermott needs to recruit Missouri Valley Conference-type players to succeed in his offensive system, and that the top players in the country aren't interested in playing his style.

Re: Sullivan and Iowa State
I believe he said the style of play did not fit the the players on the team.

Rumor, Rumor, Rumor. Consider the source.

Harrison Barnes is visiting Iowa today?

Re: Sullivan and Iowa State
He said McD style doenst fit his players. He said it in M&M one night. You have to remember who the two guys that did the intervew are, they were way down on ISU and ISU was having problems at that point. Jake has since said good things about ISU and where things are going.

Re: Sullivan and Iowa State
Sullivan was on M&M yesterday and they were making him relive the ending to his freshman season...Baylor and team that shall go unmentioned. They were asking him how long it takes to get over something like that, and he said he's never gotten over it, he still thinks about it every day.

Thanks for the info. Hadn't heard about it earlier.

You should also be able to hear the sirens as the police cars pass Carver on the way to Hillcrest. -

Sold out doesn't mean full. There will be loads of empty seats. Two teams with 8 combined wins in the conference?

Re: Sullivan and Iowa State
Barnes goes to Iowa on unofficial visit quite a bit. He goes to almost every ISU home game and then goes to Iowa home games on saturdays when ISU has a road game. He just wants to be around college basketball.
I seriously don't consider Iowa to be a contender for him. He wants to go somewhere and win which unfortunately he can't do at ISU or Iowa right now. He is waiting to see where both programs are heading. Coach McFarland even said on thursday that the toughest player to recruit was the one living in ames.
