I would like to know from everyone out there what there thoughts are on the new recruiting class coming in and what there expecatations are for next year. Seeing todays Colorado game I saw - I have no idea what I saw. I hope this will get straightened out next year with his class coming in.
PLEASE STAY OUT OF THE KOOL-AID Well, counting Lucca, here's what we've got.
PG Dominique Buckley 6'2"
SG Wes Eikmeier 6'3"
SG/SF Lucca Staiger 6'5"
PF Clinton Mann 6'7"
C Justin Hamilton 6'11"
We're basically bringing in another lineup next year. I'm more excited about the backcourt than the frontcourt, as by far our biggest need is a shooter right now. If Eik and Staiger are the sharpshooters they've been rumored to be, it's a step in the right direction. I'd be surprised if Hamilton has much more than a Vette role next year. We can really use Mann to be the stud rebounder that he's been in high school, because we're losing a lot there this year. I honestly think we're looking at another 16-ish win season next year unless Mann/Hamilton/Brackins/Thompson/CoJo step up big time.

I vote yes. This is good ol' hindsight talking, but, yes, it sure looks that way.

Re: ISU vs. CU postgame thread
Speed has been one thing we lack. Everyone seems like they are moving in slow motion and Im sure thats why we never get good looks at the basket. Motion just isnt crisp. Doesnt help that we usually suck at CU anyway. I was happy to see Roby didnt score in the last 30 seconds when he easily could have. Classy act I thought. While this loss stung a bit, I expected it going in. We have alot of work to do.

So quit bring him up, unless he contacted you - asking you do to do on his behalf - which I doubt.

Re: ISU vs. CU postgame thread
Not having Clark really hurt on defense, but there were signs of life. With Rashon and Jiri gone after this season getting points in the paint may be difficult. I think the coaching staff will get Mr. Brackins in the weight room and others like Alex Thompson and the new comers.
As for shooting guards Petey, Garrett, Haluska are back with experience. Wes will be healthy and can not wait to see what Lucca and Boozer can do. The future in my eyes is bright, just taking some lumps this season. Be patient cyclone fans it will come around. -

You see things one way...others see them another. Surely not everyone agrees with everything you say in every aspect of your daily life? I have nothing wrong with 95% of the negative posts and posters. Most of them are correct in what they say. What I hate is when people come here and do noting but rip on ISU and the program. Saying we suck and it will never get better isnt doing any good but to get ohters upset. These players and coaches have friends and families (the players themselves even come here) that read these boards, why do they need to see a post that says we suck. The players and coaches are working their butts off to get better, we as fans could cut them a little slack now and then. Everyone knows all the pieces are not in place yet.
There are a few some posts here about players the posters have never saw play. There are some posts about the team that are nothing but negative and question the coaches every move. Sure you can question it but at some point the coach has to be right about something. I think there are some fans that want to see the team fail so they can say I told you so. Some fans find a negative in anything and dwell on the bad not the good. There are some that cannot see the big picture. There are some fans that take ISU winning and losing way to seriously. We all know there are problems with this team but the way some people post there comments just strike a nerve with others at times.

I vote yes. No. He will only play 2 more years as a Cyclone. He isnt 100% and still one of the best players in the conference. There are only 2 sophmores on this team and if it stays that way in 2010 there will be only 2 open spots. One spot is already taken, there is a guard in Ames that some would like to take the other. The staff has to have options for filling those spots and right now there really isnt much they can do but wait on him or another good player.

Re: ISU vs. CU postgame thread
One thing I worry about is recruiting. Imho, we need to go to post-season play soon (very soon) or good players aren't going to want to come here. We need some kind of hope next season or GMac may be in a hole he can't get out of. Man I pray I'm wrong.

Re: ISU vs. CU postgame thread
After watching this game I really think that shooting is NOT the number one thing we need to bring in. What we need is someone who can take it to the rack and finish (Stinson, Tinsley). It really seems like every other team in the conference has one, but we don't. It puts alot of pressure on teh D and will not fail you as often as relying on the jump shot.

With the amount of underclass men he has now and will have next year he should be ok for a bit. The team should will only lose 7 guys the next 3 years. Yes it will be a set back but not a program killer just yet. If they dont make post season by WJs sr year we may have to worry a bit. It they dont make the NCAAs by CBs sr year than we worry. If they dont make the NCAAs by the class of 08s sr year that is a program killer.
