anybody know the situation with Pomelee?
The rag said he is considering EIU, ISU and Wisconsin. The question I have is are we still considering him? Anyone see him play recently? Could he help us under the basket?

Re: anybody know the situation with Pomelee?
Somebody said that McD was there watching him during his district game. I know it isn't a popular opinion around here but I hope we sign him. I think he could be an Eric Coleman-esque rebounder and defender. And that's about all you can hope for from a spring signee.

Sounds as though you've seen him play, or are you speculating?
I ask because I've heard his name any number of times, of course, but I'm not sure about his abilities.
I've heard that he's not one to push himself hard, don't know if this is an accurate assessment or not. Anyone here know something about his athleticism? Is he 6-foot-8? SF/PF combo-type player? Physically, does he have the frame to turn into a banger?
Guess I'm asking for a summary of his physical talent. Can anyone here provide that? Thanks.

Re: anybody know the situation with Pomelee?
He is a stopper, rebounder, but doesn't have a polished offensive game. BTW, who is david reese?

Sorry, I meant who is Brad reese?

Re: anybody know the situation with Pomelee?
I've also heard that he doesn't push himself very hard but he is very athletic and could help us out

The reese kid does not excite me. Hopefully he will be good.

I think we have formally offered (I'm not sure). I read somewhere that he wants a Wisconsin offer but he doesn't have anything on paper yet. Wisonsin might be stringing him along while waiting on someone else. He or Vanderbeken could help us down low next year.

I know nothing about him other than his height, weight and JC stats but nothing in those numbers gets me excited. If a kid is going to be 6'6" and 200 pounds I would hope he is only a freshmen so there is time to put weight on him. As JC recruit, I guess I would like to see someone physically ready to play. He sounds rather slight.
Anyone have more insight about what the staff sees here?
BTW...I'd take Pomlee as well.

Re: anybody know the situation with Pomelee?
Reese does have three years to play. Also, Rahshon was only about 200 when McD came to town. He's probably a defensive stopper or something, if they are looking for someone to fill Rah's role. I could be totally wrong on all this, but I am speculating.
I'd rather have Pomlee than Vanderbeken. He has about as unimpressive JUCO stats as anybody out there and he's only got 2 to play.

Guess I'm asking for a summary of his physical talent. Can anyone here provide that? Thanks. Considering how Davenport Central practically ran wild over a usually strong Mississippi Athletic Conference this season I'm pretty sure there was little reason for Pomlee to have been pushed extremely hard this year, considering the leg and all (although that sounds like it's been healed up).
As for his frame, it's just itching to have some muscles put on it. He has a great frame. By the end of his senior year in college he has the potential to be a monster in the paint.
