Pomlee and Lickliter head-to-head tonight!

I'm watching the class 4A state finals and LA Pomlee who I think we have been recruiting is playing, so is Gatens who is committed to Iowa, and so is Lickliter's son.

So far, it seems like everytime Pomlee gets the ball down low, he doesn't look to shoot but to pass it back out to the three point line. Lickliter's son looks just as goofy as his dad does and I think I can hear the crowd chanting "Daddy's Princess" everytime he has the ball. I haven't paid much attention to Gaten's I just heard them mention his name.

I remember Gatens sr as not quite so popular during his Iowa days. He was 6-8/9 and could barely dunk, quite TO prone and the only Iowa dude I remember to get booed by the home crowd.

I'm not sure how hard we're recruiting Pomlee, but I hope we're not spending too many resources on him. He's getting by on purely height right now and 6'8 isn't going to be taller than everyone else in college.

Exaggeration is a BILLION times worse than understating.

Yeah, everytime he gets the ball I don't really see him take a look at the basket. To me, I think he should take a look at the basket first, and if that doesn't come, then you can dish it out. But he can get that from being on McD's staff. He has had a couple good rebounds and put backs however.

Can't say I'm that impressed with him so far. Now that Drew Davis kid from Dubuque, I like him, he really showed some athleticism for being 300lbs. Whether football or basketball, I hope he's a Clone.

I agree with you there! He looked like he moved pretty good with the ball and bumped around down low. He's that "banger" type people have been lookinng for so much lol

I think he has looked alright, he is being triple teamed every possesion and doing a really good job of recognizing where the open guy is. He could use some better hands though, he isn't catching many clean...

If that PG for Central was a little taller, I would say we need to be all over him.

Re: Pomlee and Lickliter head-to-head tonight!

I think Pomlee has the frame to put on some muscle and the potential to be a solid D1 defensive and garbage player. His passing has been impressive tonight as well. I'd be happy with his size and would mind him as a project. The only question is his hustle and drive, which watching throughout the tourney has been a bit lacking at times.
