Staiger - Back Problems

From DSM Register:

Iowa State freshman guard Lucca Staiger, sitting out this season after the NCAA ruled him ineligible, has missed several practices because of a bad back. The pain became so great that he had an MRI done last week. Trainer Vic Miller said the test revealed no structural damage. Miller said Staiger's pain is due to muscle damage.

I'm trying to stay on the bright side, so I'll say this....Well, at least we weren't expecting lucca to play for us in the big 12 tourney, so we don't have to change our game plan. (I hate Myles Brand!)

I just hope this isn't something that will be recurring for him... Those back injuries can really be debilitating.

Hope this isn't a recurring thing....some rest and relaxation sounds good for Lucca these days.

On another note, I know Vic Miller and one of my favorite lines from him is "The hardest part about being the athletic trainer for men's basketball isn't all the travel, long hours, and being away from home. It's trying to determine if the guy walking into the training room is limpin or pimpin."

Better the muscle than some other things in the back...I think.

Wes E. hurt his back in the tourney as well. Maybe thay can go to the same Chinese massage place. You want happy ending?
