Free throw numbers from our freshman

Last five games -

Brackins 18/19, %94.7
Garrett 14/17, %82.4

And that includes the intentional miss by Garrett as well. Hopefully they can keep up the good FT% next year, that would be a big boost since they are the two that will probably be fouled the most next season.

These two have both been playing much better. For all folks who are worried about Jiri leaving, I think Brackins will be a good replacement as well as Alex Thompson. They both have to rebound better then Jiri.

Craig has really stepped up, and is playing great! All he needs is a little muscle.

Actually, they both are worse at rebounding than Jiri, considering he led the team in rebounding, defensive rebounding %, and offensive rebounding % the last two years. Thompson is not a great rebounder, and people have been complaining about Craig's rebounding all season.

I have no idea why people feel the need to bash Jiri.

Re: Free throw numbers from our freshman

Jiri is not one of the top rebounders in the Big 12. In fact he has to be near the bottem. He's been a decent offensive player and good defenively at times.

I'm not bashing him. I just think Alex and Craig will fill the void.

I'll offically eat crow. Thank you for the information.

I still think Craig will do the job next year.

I keep forgetting that.

I'll try to do better (worse?). I promise.

Re: Free throw numbers from our freshman

It will be difficult for Brackins to get many rebounds when he is standing at the 3-point line or shooting fade aways.

The percentages are good...but the numbers are not. They need to get to the line a lot more.

That will change. Some people forget how lousy Jiri looked his first few years.

On the radio they said like over the last 5 (?) games the Cyclones are shooting 87% from the free throw line as a team. Not bad.

umm go back and look at his post.. he says..

didnt say they were..

just thought i would clear that up

Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative.

ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."

Great stats Bryce.

Oh...and great stats as well, isucyfan! It's always nice when you can kill an illegitimate "argument" with some tasty facts. :)
