Freshman battle

Last weekend Walker and Beasley took on Diante and Craig

I think Craig and DG really held their own in showing that they are LEGIT Big 12 talent as freshmen. I think its safe to say both have continued to improve throughout the season.

Craig looked aggresive last week... NOT just on O. He is starting to rebound and play D with a purpose. Just imagine how good he will be when that outside shot starts falling again.

DG continues to give us a chance to win. He has played great D lately (almost making a great play stealing the KSU inbounds pass at one point). His ability to get to the hole and finish will only improve with some strengthening. He gets to the foul line well too.

The progress of those two will only be helped by the addition of an offensive threat in Lucca. That one addition might do a lot for our team. Giving DG ONE more option to find, freeing up the paint for EVERYONE.

BP, AT, SH were all at one point walkons. Those guys have steadily improved.

Get Wes healthy.

Add some solid recruits and things may not be so bleak next year. We might actually have an offense:)

Go Clones! Go Knights!

Glad I am not the only one that thinks that way.

Agreed, things are looking much better than I had forecast at the beginning of this season. And I feel I can say that without feeling too drunk from the Cy-Aide.

Agreed, those two have really come on strong the last few games. I am excited for the future!

Oh... people will come Mr. Pollard. People will most definitely come.

No, I don't live in Seattle anymore, I'm back in Des Moines but I don't feel like changing my username.

That is a solid line up for next year, not taking anything away from Clark or Jiri but ISU will be just fine next year. DG and Brakins really had a great freshman showing yesterday. Thompson is still getting better and so is Haluska. Wes will have to step up his game a little next year and become the premiere player that he should be. Throw Lucca into the mix and the lineup gets even better, with him playing it will take a lot of pressure off Wes to score everytime and add another outside threat. Which in turn should open up the middle for Brakins and Thompson. Really looking forward to next year Cyclone basketball!!!

If Wes can stay healthy next year, he will be great!

I think Diante will be a good player for us, but he had some absolute killer turnovers and mental mistakes yesterday.

Put some meat on those bones boys!

Yeah I'm looking forward to next year partially because this is one of the lousiest years we've had in recent memory.

Let's look ahead and not back!

Re: Freshman battle

Yes, Cyclone basketball fans should be excited and anticipating the 08-09 season. Believe it or not Kansas State fans feel the same way. Freshmen Jacob Pullen, Fred Brown, Dominique Sutton, and Ron Anderson along with redshirted freshman, Jamar Samuels will all return.

Actually all season. Yesterday he did other things to offset the mistakes. He will be more seasoned next yea. Loss of Mike threw him into the fire early.

Re: Freshman battle

How about we find someone to replace Wes? I almost bet that he is on his way out. D-league or transfers to a different school

Thank you Wes Johnson for the great 2 years you gave Iowa State. Wish you could've stayed. Best of luck to you, wherever you end up.

"The one thing I really want to say is to tell the fans thank you for everything," Johnson said. "You rooted for me, you were behind me with my injury, and I really appreciated that."
