There are not many crowds or places in the country that have a better impact on the game than at Iowa State. The Cyclone fans are truly a sixth man. The place is so loud and always a fantastic crowd." - Former Kansas and current North Carolina head coach Roy Williams

"Without question John, if there wouldn't have been an outpouring of support from our fans, I don't think Lucca would be here. Now obviously, those of us that are close to him, the coaches and his teammates, we were going to be there for him, but I think he was just amazed at how many people cared whether he got to play basketball or not, and his family just could not believe it as well, and we really just have to give our fans a huge assist, because they're a big reason Lucca Staiger is still a Cyclone." - GMac
Although we didn't succeed in getting the ruling overturned, it appears they had an impact on Lucca, so they weren't all for nothing.
[Edit] I went back with the DVR to get more of the quote.

Maybe it was just the emotion of the day, but I think Coach almost teared up in the middle there. It is obvious how much he cares for Lucca.

At first I thought it was just random footage, but he wasn't missing. It reminded me of that scene in the movie Hoosiers. The coach and his friend are off to the side talking and one kid is just shooting baskets...and makes every one.

he is gonna be a good one. Too bad we only have him for 3 years instead of 4.

Thank you Wes Johnson for the great 2 years you gave Iowa State. Wish you could've stayed. Best of luck to you, wherever you end up.
"The one thing I really want to say is to tell the fans thank you for everything," Johnson said. "You rooted for me, you were behind me with my injury, and I really appreciated that."
