First Time at the Big12 Tourney

What do I need to know?
Any imput would be great!!!
We are going to try to scalp tickets for Thursday's game. What should we expect to pay and what would decent seats be?
What would you expect to pay for nosebleeds vs. decent balcony vs. lowers??.

Stopping at Kelly's is a Must, but what else should we expect or should we plan....
What restaurants should we hit???
Any other Bars or places that we should stop??

I have turned my Wife into a Cyclone and I need to show here what the tourney is all about!.

Thanks again for any info.

Re: First Time at the Big12 Tourney

For session 1 on Thursday expect to pay around $10 to $30 in the upper deck and $20 to $80 in the lower level. Each session will progressively get more expensive, probably peeking in price Friday night when KU and KSU will be playing. Expect $80 to $160 in the upper deck and $150 + for lowers.

In general it will all come down to timing, who is still playing, and who you buy the tickets from....

Re: First Time at the Big12 Tourney

There are a lot of bars that just opened across the street from the Sprint Center and there will be a lot of stuff going on around there. KC has several great BBQ restaurants and you can't really go wrong with any of them. Arthur Bryant's, Gates', Oklahoma Joe's...

I was at the Sprint Center earlier in the year. It's a really nice place and it's too bad they aren't selling any beer (unless you're in a luxury box, of course). We were in the balcony and even though we were way up there (and it's really steep up there) we had a pretty good view of the game. There are more seats in the lower level than the upper level.

As far as ticket prices go Thursday night might not be too bad if there are KU or K-State fans selling tickets they aren't going to use but overall I think it's going to be pricier than usual this year.

Re: First Time at the Big12 Tourney

I am really thinking about going Thursday evening for our game since I am in St. Joseph, MO., but I don't want to spend $40-$50 for a ticket. What are my chances for scalping a ticket for $20-$30? (Also, does anyone have a fake ID I can use to get into Kelly's? )

They bought 36,000 season tickets so there is a passion there…don’t hide it…let it out. I want there to be a passion in the stadium."

Re: First Time at the Big12 Tourney

Someone has to know something....

Is it impossible to get cheap tickets?

Can a 20 year old get into Kelly's to watch the game if they don't get tickets?? If not, are there any other good places to watch the game with other Cyclone fans (that anyone can get into)?

I spoke to someone from KC last week and he also mentioned something called "The NCAA Basketball Experience".......located within a block of the Sprint Center. If you have a sober hour or two you can check that out.

When I've been to KC there was a pep rally's where the Women teams played that was a lot of fun. The hotel that housed the Cyclones was a lot of fun too. I still remember when Michalik, Hoiberg and Meyer walked into the hotel and the whole lobby errupted into the Iowa State fight Song. It was one of the funnest experiences i've ever had.

Weather will be great. You should just g and see what yu can get,. St Joes is 60 miles away. Do not ticket prices go down closer to game time. Just wait until after the first evening game is almost over before you buy. Not many A&M fans will show the first night I suspect.

You've been drinking? I never would have guessed from the spelling

Good to hear there's already quite a contingent down there! Enjoy the weekend!

Yeah you are probably right. I need to find someone to go with now... I would still like to find a list of places I could go in case I don't get tickets (and I'm not 21). There have been a couple good suggestions here and there.

There are tons of cheap tickets floating around Thursday. You won't have any problems getting into the building at a very reasonable price. Friday and Saturday not so much but Thursday is easy.

Find people supporting teams who lost on wed & thurs and see if they have tix for Frid & sat. Usually you can get a good price for them since they are so disgusted they just want to get rid of the tix and go home. I've seen people just give them away when their team gets upset.
