Rodney Williams Jr. has also apperently been on an unofficial visit to ISU, per GopherHole.com - Rising Basketball Star: Rodney Williams .
The bad thing is his dad really likes EIU. It would definitely be great to have either white or Williams.

I did hear Mac say a couple of weeks ago on his call-in show that ISU might go after a Rashon replacement in April. Don't believe I had heard him mention a wing player before. Wonder if maybe the staff's plans have changed, such as using double PFs down under a lot, Wes and Craig, and so need to strengthen the wing position. . . .

2 wings,(butler/reese), a post, maybe 2, (vanderbeeken, maybe Pomlee) No pure guards though.

However, Mac has said in the past that AT and family understand that his scholarship might be used elsewhere at some point. So, AT's scholarship could be used this spring by signing another player for next season, and AT would return to walk-on status.
That would, as of now, leave zero scholarships to be awarded in 2009.
Am I close to accurate on this?

Am I close to accurate on this? Considering this, I doubt the coaches will sign 3 players this spring. They would be better served holding it for next year, where there is a ton of good recruits they are after.

If there is a guy they feel can help the program they should go after them.

So, cyismydog, something has changed. Thanks for the info.
Some weeks ago I recall Mac saying he had offers out to a "couple of guards." Either he struck out on his targets or he's re-targeted. Either way, hope he lands contributors next month.
Monday night, responding to a question, he said he had not received commitments for next month's signing period. Lots of JC basketball still going on, Mac said, so decisions might not be made for some time yet.

Repeatedly, Mac has spoken about being selective with his lone 2009 offer, and that he'll pursue the best player available and not recruit by position.
Sounds like the staff has a lot of time invested in 2009 recruiting. Hard to imagine they would drop their pursuit of top, premium 2009 players to take three spring signees now. You make a good point, imho.

Am I close to accurate on this? I believe that is correct. If he is looking at two guys for the spring, then Mac is already using Haluska's and Petey's scholarships on those guys. If he goes for a third and there is no additional attrition, then I guess AT is giving up this scholarship and then 2009 would bring in zero new players. As far as making 2010 a super class, if some of the JC guys this spring are 2 year guys, then those scholarships would be open again for 2010. If none are 2 year players (and he gets 3), then there would only be 1 scholarship open for 2010 and hopefully, that would go to Mr. Barnes.
My over used attachment attached.
Edit: I also like holding one scholarship AT LEAST for 2009.

That would getting Darius Stevens quite...tough. Should we in fact be after him.
