Treat before KC
Brad Reese update? We should get answer with in a few days...Probably going to be ISU or going back to JC. Who else was on a visit for the KSU game? All underclassmen What does the staff see in L.A. Pomelee? Ability to rebound in the Big12. Harrison Barnes update? Nothing new...ISU or national title contending program...I'm not worried at all. Who is our number #1 and #2 choice left? Jimmy Butler and Jamie Vanderbeken Where is our banger? Not going to happen this year, have plenty that look the part, but don't fit the part(can't catch or move). And can't afford to take a risk. Any other questions...ask. I had a long talk and might have forgotten somethings. -
Re: Treat before KC
I like the idea of not taking risks. We don't need projects, we need contributers. There is no need to panic and try to fit a square peg into a round whole.

Re: Treat before KC
IMHO, we will get Reese and Pomlee, and have Pomlee as the Damion staple type player. What type of player is Butler? Wing or post player? He is listed as a sf, but there is a big difference between pure wing, banger, or both.

Re: Treat before KC
At this point the staff will take as many 6'6"/6'7" athletic kids that they can find for the wing...note these are not CJ(post) type players.

Re: Treat before KC
Vanderbeken is the tallest recruit, but has the ability to step out and hit the three...which should give Brackins room to operate.

Re: Treat before KC
At this point our Number 1 target is Reese with 1A being Butler. Pretty much the same player. I would say 2a is Vanderbeken and 2b is Pomlee. Vanderbeken is less risk due to being a 2 year guy and has great grades and was never an academic liability. He is in JC because his grades did not transfer from Canada. Pomlee has more upside potential but do we risk having a 4 year battle with grades and blood clots. Is it worth the risk?

Is this a Q&A with yourself or are you getting this information from somewhere? Just curious where this info is coming from...

Re: Treat before KC
Not to get off topic, but will Cleyon Laing's grades transfer since he lives in Canada?

I think about half his shots are from the 3 point arc. Butler is a guy I really like. He shoots about 7 free throws a game which tells me he has a handle to get to the lane and draws contact. Also averages 3-4 assists and 7 rebounds (I think). I'm not sure we have offered Butler though, and he sounds like he prefers Mississippi State right now.

Re: Treat before KC
None of these guys get me excited. That's not to say they can't come in and surprise. I hope that is the case, but until proven otherwise, I'm just not that enthused about any of the 4.

Re: Treat before KC
First come first serve to the standing offers. Take at least 2 maybe 3.
