Re: 2008-2009 Schedule so far
I know we'll play South Dakota State or whoever the DII opponent we had this year, but they will be a D1 team come next season so the game will count in the RPI now

It was North Dakota, thanks for the tip.
As for the Las Vegas invite, I thought it was a multi-year commitment. I could definitely be wrong though.

Recruiting Exposure in Omaha?

I realize Wes is from Nebraska, but I don't see Omaha as a hotbed of recruiting. I doubt we continue to play Bradley- but the city of Peoria alone produces more D1 hoop players than the entire state of Nebraska.
I'd like to see Jamie push hard to develop a long standing relationship with the Gophers in all sports. Heck work with Wells Fargo to sponsor something like a Border Battle.

Re: 2008-2009 Schedule so far
I would enjoy a series with Southern Miss, an up and coming C-USA program, coached by non other than Larry Eustachy. I would also enjoying seeing us play Tim Floyd's USC Trojans every once in a while.

I don't want them involved with anything ISU if it means we are playing at the Wells Fargo Arena. All home games should be in Hilton.

Re: 2008-2009 Schedule so far
I'd love to see a continual non conference game with either, Minnesota, Creighton, or Wisconsin.

Re: 2008-2009 Schedule so far
I didn't realize the Big 12/ PAc 10 thing was 1 and 1 series. I thought they would switch it up every year like Big10/ACC Challenge. I guess I should say I would prefer it if they did.

Re: 2008-2009 Schedule so far
It looks to me like we have a serious shortage of cupcake home games. What happened to the Savannah State's that Wayne Morgan paid big money to schedule?
Look at Iowa's non-conference schedule:
Idaho State
Florida Gulf Coast
Northern Colorado
Maryland Eastern Shore
Utah State
Louisiana-Monroe
Eastern Illinois
Southeastern Louisiana
That's 8 directional schools (or equivalent) to maximize the number of wins and create a lot of false hope in the non-conference schedule.
We need to add a few easy wins to our schedule.

Re: 2008-2009 Schedule so far
I'd rather not have a schedule like Iowa's. I'd rather play some bigger names and lose than play a bunch of creampuff's and prove nothing (as wierd as that may sound to some). Just because a team gets to 20-22 wins, it really doesn't mean much unless they were wins against good teams. See K-State a couple of years ago when they got screwed out of the NCAA's.
