Look at Iowa's non-conference schedule:
Idaho State
Florida Gulf Coast
Northern Colorado
Maryland Eastern Shore
Utah State
Louisiana-Monroe
Eastern Illinois
Southeastern Louisiana
That's 8 directional schools (or equivalent) to maximize the number of wins and create a lot of false hope in the non-conference schedule.
We need to add a few easy wins to our schedule. It would be hard for me to pay to watch that over and over and over. Of course, they don't buy tickets, so it doesn't matter.

Weren't they ranked 3rd at that time?

I will be really disappointed if we don't have at least 13 wins in nonconference...we really need to defend home court. 11-0 home 2-2 road.

Do you know when they are thinking about releasing the whole schedule? I mean obviously they have a pretty good idea. I'm still honestly tweaked they didn't release the schedule before requiring season ticket renewals. It makes me think that those 11 home games are going to be against pretty weak, uninteresting teams.

Can't beat the price though.

I have not seen the schedule...
If you're planning a vacation... ISU will be in the Rainbow Classic in two years(December just before Christmas).
