Not one of us knows what the schedule will look like, so not one of us can accurately predict what our record will be (as if we could even should we know the complete schedule; a full analysis of our opponents' rosters would have to be known, too, and even then W-L predictions could be no more than a guesstimate).

Not one of us knows what effect the six newcomers will have on this team and the overall program (heck, we don't yet know the identity of two of them, and the other four are in high school, how well will the latter group adjust to college? No one here knows).

Not one of us knows what parts of the playbook Mac and staff intend to install or overhaul as the result of having players experienced in D1 ball and Mac's system returning. No one here knows how much our defensive play might or might not improve next season.

Not one of us knows what Pollard is thinking at this moment. With his experience and his insider's viewpoint, I don't see how it can be denied that he understands the direction of Mac's program to a far greater certainty than anyone here knows it. Is Pollard committed to giving Greg at least five full years to prove himself and establish the ISU MBB program? How can anyone here know if he is or is not willing to do that?

Not one of us knows how much time Greg has to demonstrate whether or not he's the right coach for ISU. Why predict what we cannot know?

Not one of us knows a damn thing, really. Some of us spout off as if we possess key knowledge of the facts, we express profound conclusions (we think). I do it, many here do it. But we know nothing. Our facts are no more than speculations.

We know nothing, and yet we run on and on and on. . . . It's tiresome, and draining, all this speculation.

And when the day is done, it's as obvious as the winter is long that no one here knows a thing.
yada yada yada head back to the hawk board and you will be happy because they are so down they don't even talk about it. We have spirit, yes we do. We have spirit, what is wrong with you? My cyvalley cheer.

Responding to the thread start:

Watching the Stinson/Wayne basketball season end on a low note of 16 wins and being swept away with euphoria for the Todd Blythe Throw it To Me football season

Ending up with Four non conference wins with Dan Mac release and hope from basketball with McD

Living Fifteen McD wins and realization that the cupboard was bare with high hopes for Gene and football

Leading to three hard fought Gene football wins and bare cupboard reality with and hope for NIT in bball

Observing New start with newbies for 14 tough bball wins with loss of Mike and Lucca and thinking that Gene can do it in the second football season for the Clones

Hope springs eternal for Clone and Cub sports fans, just like the Wind Cries Mary. We still wait for better stuff to happen.

EIU is the other Okoboji University for serious students and home of Captain Kirk who pilots the Enterprise on its Trek through the Universe for finding his next great job. Captain, beware of your Superbowl.

Cael will deliver (has already delivered) for us this year. He's done it two years in a row. Next year, it would nice for somebody else to take the pressure off him...

Question for the day: Can I still make season tickets work for FB and MBB if I move to Canada?

Um...ya'll gotta do it - because the first picture that displays is very, very disturbing, confusing and hilarious - all at the same time.

But mostly disturbing.

I know two thngs:

1) I am glad that men's Basketball at ISU has reached the end of the season. It was ugly, ugly, ugly, bad, bad, bad....the sooner the teams stops playing game and starts lifting weights to get stronger, the better.

2) I will be excited to see the start of next years season and look forward to reports from the Cap City league.

Well, I learned two things from this thread.

First, that my laptop has a search setting that can be changed easily and can be very useful.

Second, what you computer geeks look like behind your keyboards..... Couldn't you just stay with wearing a red one these?
