MBB: Not one of us knows a thing . . .

Not one of us knows what next season's MBB team will be like, how it will perform, how much this year's players will grow and improve or fail to do same.

Not one of us knows what the schedule will look like, so not one of us can accurately predict what our record will be (as if we could even should we know the complete schedule; a full analysis of our opponents' rosters would have to be known, too, and even then W-L predictions could be no more than a guesstimate).

Not one of us knows what effect the six newcomers will have on this team and the overall program (heck, we don't yet know the identity of two of them, and the other four are in high school, how well will the latter group adjust to college? No one here knows).

Not one of us knows what parts of the playbook Mac and staff intend to install or overhaul as the result of having players experienced in D1 ball and Mac's system returning. No one here knows how much our defensive play might or might not improve next season.

Not one of us knows what Pollard is thinking at this moment. With his experience and his insider's viewpoint, I don't see how it can be denied that he understands the direction of Mac's program to a far greater certainty than anyone here knows it. Is Pollard committed to giving Greg at least five full years to prove himself and establish the ISU MBB program? How can anyone here know if he is or is not willing to do that?

Not one of us knows how much time Greg has to demonstrate whether or not he's the right coach for ISU. Why predict what we cannot know?

Not one of us knows a damn thing, really. Some of us spout off as if we possess key knowledge of the facts, we express profound conclusions (we think). I do it, many here do it. But we know nothing. Our facts are no more than speculations.

We know nothing, and yet we run on and on and on. . . . It's tiresome, and draining, all this speculation.

And when the day is done, it's as obvious as the winter is long that no one here knows a thing.

Well you better get ready for a long summer of spouting and ranting. Honestly, what are we supposed to do during the summer. According to you, cyclonefanatic might as well shut down during the off season. This is a message board I hope you know.

You heard him Jeremy, shut the board down until August!

Edit: That's directed at the original post, not yours gocubs, we were typing at the same time. I guess great minds think alike!

Oh... people will come Mr. Pollard. People will most definitely come.

No, I don't live in Seattle anymore, I'm back in Des Moines but I don't feel like changing my username.

But it is much more fun to speculate. Otherwise we will be pretty bored till September. Some people get paid to speculate and are not very good at it. As an amateur speculator I do it for the love of the game.

Since when is the internet intended to post stuff we "know?" I thought it was for us to spout random bits of opinion with little to no facts to support them.

Although we may not know anything, part of being a fan is to speculate and wonder what the future has in store. And when you don't have a whole lot to celebrate in the here and now, sometimes you just hold out for hope in the future.
Besides, if we can't speculate on the future, then I guess this site will be purely devoted to Politics and video games until August. And no one wants that.

Then don't read any of it? Close out your browser and a don't open it up again until next season. We have you informing people to stop posting and then we have CyHard telling people that they shouldn't post in non-game threads during the games.

SeattleClone was right Jer, shut down the site.

See you guys next season, I'm going fishing.

We as a fanbase absolutely can't handle (aka behave like rational adults) when we lose.

Welcome to the interwebs. Please enjoy your stay.

OK. Fair enough.

Just needed to say what I said. Thanks to all for letting me say it. I don't claim to be correct, all I claim to have is a point of view.

Yeah! That's a good idea. Wish I had the time for one. . . .

We just seem so cannibalistic (not just members of this board, members of any board that I've visited). But, so it goes. . . .

Just needed to spout off to relieve the stress. Thanks for letting me do it.

Cool. Next time I get frustrated and need a nappy - I'll spout off at you and then simply claim I needed a stress reliever, thank you and move on.

That ok with ya?

Seriously - the continuing to call out our fans/players/coaches repeatedly is getting just as old as losing.
