Give it a few more years.

And while we're at it, how 'bout a 4-pointer if shot behind the half-court line?

KU and Baylor are probably the worst teams to compare us to because they probably get around 15 more possessions than us a game due to the tempo they play. Of course they would shoot more.

AND we took 607 3s which was 6th in the conference in attempts while Baylor led the league with 699 attempts. Again - not the "live and die by the 3" strategy you claim.

According to the NCAA, they didn't want to be the same as International. They wanted their own line.

Honestly, at this point, moving the line shouldnt impact them too much actually shooting the ball. Heck most of them probably practice shooting far out shots alot anyway. It would be more to the fact of remember where your foot is in regards to the line. Players keep getting stronger and stronger, eventually the line will have to be moved to half court. =)

AND and, 26% of all our shot attempts were 3s. I would go through the rest of the stats in the B12 site, but really I don't have the energy to. I'd be willing to be that we were NOT in the top tier as far as percentage of shots that were 3s.

Ken Pomeroy tracks a state for 3PA/FGA, to show how many three pointers as opposed to other shots a team shoots.

ISU is 3rd in the Big 12 in 3PA/FGA, behind OSU and BU. I think that's pretty dang close to living and dying by the 3, especially considering we had the worst 3 point shooting percentage in the conference.

Maybe they should already move it back for people who do this.

Re: 3-pt line

I don't think we are so much live and die by the three as we only have two shots on the court. Feed it into the low post to Brackins or Jiri, or swing it around the perimeter until we have an open look.

We are.
So I ran the stats and we're 3rd in the B12 at 26% followed by CU (26%) UT (25%) OU (25%) KSU (24%) NU (24%) and MU (24%). So we're within 1 or 2 percentage points of a majority of the teams. Again - sure doesn't look like we live and die by the 3.

Re: 3-pt line

True. Since we do shoot the worst percentage in the Big 12 we do seem to be dying by it a lot more than living by it.

there's probably a lot of truth to that ...

we'd have to subtract the 20-40 "desperation-time" 3 pointers taken in the conferance losses
