Good recruiting article
Here's a good recruiting article off of gocyclones.com.
BTW does anyone know what 2009 Texas prospects they're looking at? Mid-Iowa Newspapers - Scouring the country
Here's an interview with Mac. Mid-Iowa Newspapers - Cyclone spotlight on men's basketball coach Greg McDermott -
Re: Good recruiting article
Id like to see Vanderbeeken here it would help out immensly. As for Reese he needs to make his own decision but I hope he becomes a cyclone.

Re: Good recruiting article
As bad as people ***** about AT, Id hate to hear em talk about Vanderbeeken's game. I dont want a player cause he's tall. Id rather have a 6'7" player that can move or play defense.
Teams can win without a tall player. Look at Memphis, Tenn. great guard play, decent sized big men.

Re: Good recruiting article
Memphis big guys might be shorter, but they are tremendous athletes.

Re: Good recruiting article
And they are incredibly strong.
Davenport product L.A. Pomlee appears to have his heart set on playing for Wisconsin, but the Badgers are worried about his academic standing. Pomlee is a 6-foot-8 power forward who also has received an offer from West Virginia, but will pass on the Mountaineers since they've already signed two power forwards. ISU may be waiting to see how long Wisconsin keeps Pomlee, who led Davenport Central to the Class 4A state championship game, waiting.
Nothing like being the fallback option. sheesh.

Re: Good recruiting article
If we find a capable big guy I think we would sign him without waiting for Pomlee to wait for Wisconsin. Besides, if they're worried about his academics, why wouldn't we have the same concerns?

Re: Good recruiting article
Geeze; who does he think he is?
"He met the NCAA's academic requirements to play Division I basketball next season, but is considering gambling another year at junior college in hopes of securing more prominent offers next year". "We are first and foremost an educational institution that values integrity, honesty and treating others with fairness and respect". -ISU President Gregory Geoffroy; circa May 2003. -

Oh yeah, and one f those big men is a former Cyclone. Originally Posted by MontyBurns If we find a capable big guy I think we would sign him without waiting for Pomlee to wait for Wisconsin. It's odd that Pomlee eliminated WVU because they have two power forwards signed, and likes Wisconsin when they have Leuer and Nankivil as frosh this year, then add Berggren and Markolf on the low post this year.
I would suspect that ISU is waiting on his grades as much as UW. Amazing how a kid is a prospect since he's a freshman, and still has grade issues when he's a second semester senior. Don't people tell these kids anything? Originally Posted by Go2Guy Geeze; who does he think he is?

Frankly, while she didn't talk much about him, I like Butler slightly better anyway. More all around skills.

Re: Good recruiting article
A good friend of mine went to the state tournament. He ran into two recruiters, and one was from Purdue. He stated that Pomlee to Wisconsin is a done deal if he is eligible. Purdue was there watching Kaylon Williams.
