Lucca Article
A friend of mine mentioned that he read about Lucca in the Minneapolis Star Tribune print edition. I'm not sure why it was in there timing-wise (Feb. 15, 2008), but I found the online version of the article.
Not anything we didn't already know, but just interesting someone is still thinking and writing about it. College basketball insider Forever trying to find a cure for the Dunning-Kruger Effect. -
Re: Lucca Article
Good publicity on this case... but a little late, isn't it?
Glad to know there are still people outside of the state of Iowa that care about it.

Re: Lucca Article
Looks like he stashed this topic away for a rainy day when he couldn't find anything else to write about. Still good to see it in print.

Re: Lucca Article
A great article but a little late. He does have a point about players playing on summer leagues with pros here in the good ole USA. Someone needs to look into the NCAA to see what they are thinking about. I look forward to watching Lucca next year. He will be a great addition to the ISU team. Live for yourself, your family, your friends then your job!!! -
Re: Lucca Article
I have been somewhat disappointed that more of these articles are appearing four months after the fact. Did it really take that long for people to become aware of this situation? Or were they just saving to print it for a slow news day? These would have been good material for FreeLucca -- months ago when it mattered.

When he told me it was fairly recent, I couldn't believe it. Very strange.
I hope Lucca tears up the Big 12 and dedicates his All-American season to NCAA hypocrisy. Forever trying to find a cure for the Dunning-Kruger Effect. -

I was also disappointed that we were unable to get the attention of anyone outside of Iowa (with the exception of a few people in Germany who were close to the situation to begin with). You know if this had happened to someone of importance at Duke or UNC that ESPN would be the first to stick a microphone in the kid's face and carry his flag.
Even the local media in Iowa never even raised much of a stink about it. I wasn't contacted by anyone from Iowa media until a month had passed, and by then it was apparent we were losing momentum and the site had stopped getting new traffic.

Re: Lucca Article
At this point I'd be more in favor of the media dropping it, seeing that they're several months late for the party. No need stirring up the hornets' nest that happens to reside in Indianapolis, especially when essentially all this "coverage" really does nothing to help out the situation. The last thing we really need is to keep this fresh in the NCAA's collective minds, have them review the situation and decide that they made a mistake in their previous ruling and that Lucca shouldn't be playing at all. Sure, unlikely scenario, but considering all of the screwjobs we've gotten in the past (a certain "missed FG against Alabama, the "blarge," the "good" 3-pointer in between free throws, the current Lucca ruling - should I go on?) - is anything too unlikely to happen to us?
