Vanderbeken Down to three

Don't ask me how I know this, but Jamie Vanderbeken is down to us, Ole Miss, or Uconn, and only one of those three. He is visiting us this weekend, and would like to visit the other two also sometime soon.

He is from Belleville (?) Canada, and originally committed to Iowa out of High School, but his grades didn't transfer from Canada, so he went to Tyler Junior College, a noted Hawkeye jc pipeline. He and Jimmy Butler go to the same college, and are visiting this weekend. Vanderbeken is 6'10" and can hit the outside shot, but also rebounds pretty well.

I was reading on Rivals a brief paragraph from last year in March and it said JVB was still heading to Iowa. Did he decide Iowa was no longer for him when Stevie left? Why is Iowa not all over this guy?

I really don't Know, since next year they're only going to have two true post players (Tate and Cole), and they're bringing in a lot of guards. Maybe it's something to do with their scholarship situation.

Is this what we need...more 6-10 guys that want to play outside instead of inside?

I don't know why people have a problem with skilled big guys who can shoot - seemed to work alright for Drake this year. Plus in one of the reports he has worked on his inside game a lot.

Frankly we need guys over 6'8" with a pulse for next year.

I was gonna say he was the guy from Dawson's Creek, but after looking at some other responses I guess that would be wrong.

Rivals lists him at 6' 9" and 250 pounds. Has anyone seen a picture of him? I'm wondering if he is a legit 250 pounds or an Alex Thompson version of 250 pounds.
