Other than Tim Floyd I wouldn't say we ever went to the the NCAA's with regularity:
Orr was here for 14 years & went 6 times: 1985, 1986, 1988, 1989, 1992,1993
Floyd was in town for four years and went three times.
Larry went twice in four years 2000, and 2001
Morgan one in three seasons
The golden era of ISU Cyclone BB in my opinion. Orr was a great coach! You also need to remember just how strong the Big 8 Conference was in BB during this time...great teams, great players, and great coaches. Heck in 1988 the NCAA Championship Game was KU and OU.
Frankly, I think we are on our way to becoming a "Football School" under Chizik!
I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes.
I got word from a VERY high donor last night that McD has one year to turn things around and that his days are numbered if he can't.
Was he Marty's dentist? McD will see year 4 and maybe year 5 if there is a little improvement. If things dont work out with McD it means Pollard messed up. He will give him time to get it turned around. Every year there are stories of big donors saying things about the coach's status and most of the time they are not true.
The gap in our economy is between what we have and what we think we ought to have--and that is a moral problem, not an economic one. - Paul Heyne
