Any updates on Butler and Vanderbeken's official visit?

I know for sure Vanderbeken has 2 more scheduled visits. It was in an article linked in one of the other threads about them. I don't know about Butler.

We hung out with Jamie and Jimmy Friday and Saturday night. They both seemed to have a really good time. Yes, we took them to Element but it was 18 and over to get in, so nothing illegal there

Jamie said he is scheduled to visit UCONN and another school, but I can't remember what it was. We REALLY need that kid to come! He is very good!

CYfan, thanks for the update. I think Jamie is also visiting Mississippi State or Ole Miss (I can't recall which).

When you say he is very good, are you basing that on a workout that happened while he was visiting? I really hope we get him then. ISU is in dire need of a 5.

Any review on Butler's abilities?

Also, did they seem close to each other? The root of that question is could one commit and convince the other to as well?

The other is Ole Miss.

I was really hoping to see a verbal this weekend. The longer he waits, the more likely he will go elsewhere in my opinion.

Yes, it was Ole Miss. And my assessment was based off of how he played with the team this weekend. He can really shoot and Wes said he is pretty strong.

Jimmy's the same height as Rahshon. Not as athletic but is a great shooter and has better handles than Rahshon.

They did seem pretty close, but I don't know if one could convince the other to come...That would be nice though!

I would love to get both of them, it sounds like they both would be contributors, and Vanderbeken seems stronger, and better, than expected. He sounds like he can be a good replacement for Jiri. Butler sounds like a pure scorer. Can he create his own shot, or is he mainly a shooter?

Question about Element. I didn't think Ames allowed bars to admit 18-20 year olds. Was the club still able to sell alcohol, or was it dry? Did non-minors get wristbands or something?

Doesn't pertain much to the discussion, but it would be nice if the city loosened up a little.

Every now and then they will have 18 and over nights. I don't know how they determine when it is ok to do, but they do have them. If you were 21 you were able to drink. They had wristbands for those who were 21.

Special thanks to Rahshon for helping to host recruits AFTER his playing days at ISU are over. Too many guys disappear from the scene as soon as they have taken their last shot on the court. Just another example of Rahshon being a great leader in addition to being a talented athlete.

The team was at State gym playing a pick-up game. Both recruits were there participating as well.

Great to see Rahshon helping out he is one of ISU's biggest selling points.

I wish they did that when I was in Ames!
