One week to go until spring signing day...

With one week to go until the start of the spring signing period, it has been quiet. I hope we have some silent verbals. Have any of our known targets made decisions?

We'll have to wait this one out. I sure hope we can land Vanderbeken.

Me too. I would love to get the Tyler boys... maybe the coaches have a suprise player too, but I wouldn't count on it. I just hope we sign some talented players that can help out right away.

I wish I could get excited and optimistic about our chances to land a quality post player or two. I seems like the quality of prospects we are looking at has steadily dropped at time goes on. Having just watched the tournament, it becomes more obvious that you just aren't going to make it without some real studs under the basket. IMO Pomelee doesn't come close to what we need to be competitive.

Unsure of how many schollies UCONN has but.....Ateer Majok a 6'9" post prospect has decommitted from Baylor and will likely commit to UCONN.....with UCONN also recruiting Vanderbeken, and Ateer committing it looks like UCONN will not offer JV, leaving him to us and Ole Miss....

With Ben Hansborough transferring from Mississippi State....I hope it doesn't make Miss. St. go after Jimmy Butler...JB was initially considering Miss St among others....JB would have 3 years of eligibility remaining.

I saw that the younger Hansborough was transferring from Mississippi State and it has me a little worried about Butler too. I'm not sure why he is transferring. He's not as good as his older brother, but he looked like a decent player against Memphis.

I would love to have Hansborough, he's tough, a good shooter, smart, and would fit perfectly in Mac's system.

Things are looking pretty decent with 3 guys. JVB, Jimmy Butler, and L.A. Pomlee. Xavier Thames I beleive is a slight UNLV lean. We are up in Minnisota about every weekend after Royce White. That was kind of suprising since I though we were going after Rodney WIlliams a little bit harder. I heard the coaching staffs of Minny, ISU, and Wisconsin are pretty impressed on how White has handled himself since being dismissed. Taking the blame and trying to make it right.

For the record I hope if JVB and Jimmy butler commit to us we don't get Pomlee and instead go after one of Thames or White/Williams. Just wishfull thinking I guess.

I believe UCONN has 2 players that are transferring. Both post players.

Thanks for the info. Knownothing, do you think if the staff will most likely sign all three if they can get them, or will they only sign 2 in the spring signing period?
