Sedrick Johnson will be playing both football and basketball here at The Iowa State University. Looks like we got a stud in football and good contributor who hopefully won't be playing until conference season. All-East Texas Boys Basketball

Could be good news, but someone convince me this is good news. I haven't heard or read much about his basketball skills. Has McDermott made any mention of him playing hoops? I like the idea - seems any football player always brings a certain degree of toughness, and he certainly has good hoops size. Was he recruited to play basketball anywhere?
He signed for football, that should be his main sport. He was a 4-star receiver and wasn't really on the basketball map because of that. I won't believe it until McDermott says something, hopefully Sed doesn't assume he's going to be able to play both. If he does end up on the basketball team, I hope he doesn't play much because he is still playing football until around the new year.
“One day we’ll be in here celebrating a Big 12 championship,” Rhoads said. “That I can promise you.”
