I still disagree. They look like nice prospects, but that's really stretching it.
Question for you 22...Do you really enjoy the roll of being the "Debbie Downer" of Cyclone Fanatic? I have read countless threads of fans posting their optimistic opinions only to see your "bringing them back to reality" posts to follow. If a thread is full of fans excited about somthing involving Cyclone athletics, why do you feel the need to rain on the parade with your snide, sarcastic comments? If you dont share the same opinion as the majority of the posters in the thread, then why even bother to comment? It just seems like you enjoy being the fun hater.

Re: Best 3pt shooting newcomers in nation?

This should be fun....

I'm generally a rather optimistic individual. What I won't allow myself to become, is a Cyclone homer that is blinded by my affiliation with ISU and not able to see the big picture. It is a stretch to say these guys are the best 3pt shooting newcomers in the nation. A rather large stretch.

And I wasn't the least bit sarcastic here - I was straight to the point. Someone questioned my post, I reiterated/clarified and moved on. I didn't even beat the thing into the ground as some love to do here.

So, instead of debating me, care to discuss the actual topic?

Not that ISUFan needs me to defend him, but all too often we as fans find ourselves coming up with these unreasonable expectations (for example, you hear "optimistic" football fans saying we should do no worse than than 8-4 this coming year). While optimism is great, these same "optimistic" fans are going to be the same fans that come October, when their dreams of going 8-4 are shattered, will be the same ones on here demanding Gene Chizik be held accountable for not meeting their unreasonable expectations, never mind the fact that he'll only be halfway through year two of a very extensive rebuilding of the football team. Like I said, I'm all for optimism, but I'd rather it be a cautious optimism, especially considering the state of the football and basketball programs. Otherwise this place isn't going to be a pleasant place to visit with the extreme verbal sparring that's bound to occur between various members of this site.

Re: Best 3pt shooting newcomers in nation?

I would say if those three are the best 3-point shooters in the nation, we should expect a big 12 championship and a deep run in the NCAA's. Look where Davidson got with just 1 great 3-point shooter. If we have all 3, then i expect nothing less than a national championship. ;)

On a serious note, they do look like they are pretty good 3-point shooters, but i will save my judgement until i have seen them play in a couple of games. But, at least they have some great potential.
