After working out with the team for a year, Lucca doesn't really qualify as a "first year guy".

I misinterpreted the question as well. I thought you mean this upcoming season. I picked JVB(The Notorious). Over the course of a career, D Buck would be my vote.

"Impact" generally translates to "Immediate impact".

If Hamilton becomes an iarcraft carrier--especially after a redshirt, he might get my nod over DBuck. But then, I think Pomlee has a great deal of potential as well.

Hmmm...if you take just the freshmen, what will be the '12 class:

PG Buckley
2G Eikmeier or Christopherson
SF
PF Pomlee or Mann
C Hamilton

...that gaping hole certainly tells us what position Mac focuses on recruitng the next couple of seasons, doesn't it?

I wonder if there is a SF out there that that staff is recruiting...

Re: Who will make the biggest impact?

I went with Pomlee simply because of the general negative opinion about him on this board - I'm not saying that people genuinely dislike him, it just feels like the opinion around here about him is he's going to be a non-factor where instead I think by the time he leaves he'll end up being a monster for us.

Of course, I think Lucca will have the biggest impact next season, but that's like saying water's wet, black holes are dark, or absolute zero is cold.

My Roman Villas:
Friley-Godfrey (-66|126)
Helser-Woodrow (-61|122)
Roberts-Harriman (-74|133)
Welch-Ayres (-73|133)

Re: Who will make the biggest impact?

I think Buckley has a great chance to be special down the road. With that being said, I think a player that has been a bit overlooked for future potential is Justin Hamilton.

I have a good feeling about him and I really like what I've read about his work ethic and drive to put on weight. He potentially could be a presence in the middle for us in the years to come. It may take a few years but I think he may be a a real steal for this class.

I believe Kg said Xavier Thames is out, and they are after CJ wilcox, Rodney Williams, and Royce White. Hopefully we can snag one of those guys as an eventual replacement for Wesley.

overwhelmingly Buckley. I don't know how much faith I have in our big men recruits yet.

Eik is not for real. No one from Nebraska is real. (Sarcasm - and apologies to our members from Nebraska).

He may have been working out with them, but he hasn't played against Big XII competition. But, that's merely semantics.

I like Lucca and Buckley to be our biggest contributors long-term. Can't wait to watch Lucca torch it up -- dude is a beast.

Re: Who will make the biggest impact?

If I'm going with someone that is not on the list, combined impact at ISU just might be Sedrick Johnson. But basketball (since this is in the basketball forum) only, and on the list will be Buckly or even Hamilton if he continues to improve at his current rate.

funny side poll would be to see who on that list CF'ers think will make the SMALLEST impact on the bball program...
