I've searching around for some information on L.A. and found out he participated in the Iowa-Illinois All Star game and dunk contest. Not only did he compete in the dunk contest...he won it, this is showing the kind of athlete we are bringing in if he can throw it down better than some of the best in Illinois! Three-pointers help Illinois girls win all-star game / QCTimes.com
You got to scroll down to All Star contests and it talks about him winning and how he did it!

I think that would be "the best in western Illinois (or the Quad-Cities area)...which is a substantially diofferent matter than "the best in Illinois".

Yeah, but if your going to quote.. you might want to quote he said "some of the best in Illinois" which would be valid!

I see the kid is a really good rebounder and lord knows we need more of that. I'd like to see him score some points, but if he can be a defensive stopper and rebound leader, that would really help us a lot.

The good news is that the REAL experts and the ones that really matter have determined he is more athletic than the average anonymous chatboard hall-of-fame wannabe coach.
"I saw him play once....." now counts more than months and months of in-depth video analysis and player/coach interviews.

And he beat a guy from DPort West, the HS i graduated from. Not saying a lot, unfortunately a lot of lower-middle class white kids.

I saw him play once, and he really runs the floor well. He had a couple put back dunks in transition.

Thank you Wes Johnson for the great 2 years you gave Iowa State. Wish you could've stayed. Best of luck to you, wherever you end up.
"The one thing I really want to say is to tell the fans thank you for everything," Johnson said. "You rooted for me, you were behind me with my injury, and I really appreciated that."

That's the first comparison I thought of. Personally I would be fine with that. A hustle guy that grabs rebounds and plays good D. Hopefully just a little better free throw shooter:)

Van Coleman described him of an Erik Coleman with more upside and more athleticism. Kind of what we need.

A Damion Staple type-player would be a great addition to our team.

Many have called Pomlee a project. But with our need for bigs and his rebounding ability, will he play or redshirt?
