I would certainly place him towards the top of our list but there are quite a few marquee players that we're hanging with right now. I think you have to look at his ability from day one if he were to go to ISU and realize that he would probably compete for a starting role right away. Here's the list of schools that offered after the NJCAA tourney awhile back:memphis tennesee kentucky marquette texas alabama wisconsin and that's it.

I like Buycks as a prospect. And I don't want to say I doubt the accuracy of this list of offers. But I doubt the accuracy of this list of offers.
Seriously, that is a really big time list. I find it hard to believe that a juco kid has offers like that this early on. Most jucos tend to receive offers later in the process.
Also, if all of those schools have offered, why would ISU just now be offering? Given our history with him, you'd think we would have pulled the trigger long ago.
But hey, I hope he really does have all of those offers, and still picks ISU. I just think that list is highly suspect at this point.

Re: Dwight Buycks
Well, if he has offers from all of those schools, he should be a very, very high priority for ISU.
What do you/your source think of our chances?

Re: Dwight Buycks
Thanks. Is it true that he wanted to attend ISU out of HS?

Re: Dwight Buycks
Looking at this as a total outsider, some things I see in ISU's favor:
- his is already playing in Iowa
- He knows Diante Garrett well
- Coach Robinson has ties to IHCC as he played there for two years.
- ISU recruited Dwight out of HS originally.
Seems like this all gives ISU a pretty good shot at landing him.

Any chance we see Dwight playing in the Cap City League this summer?

Re: Dwight Buycks
I never really thought about it but there seems to be a lot of talent in Milwaukee. It sounds like the schools aren't that good and there may be some eligibility issues with some of the kids but it'd be nice to have a pipeline there to recruit regionally. We've had bad luck recently with guys from several states away and it would be really nice if we could focus on kids with ties close by.

I agree with this - in my opinion there is enough talent in the Minnesota, Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin area to put together a winning Big 12 team. Obviously, when good players from farther out are looking at Iowa State you don't turn them down.
I think in some ways it would help to alleviate player turnover. But it's not exactly a magic solution - look at Marsden, Vette, Cory Johnson. The one thing about them is that they all left for what I consider to be justifiable reasons. It is hard to fault focusing on academics (where Marsden will shape his future), Vette's issues, or searching for playing time elsewhere.
If players like Garrett, Mann, Eikmeier are playing significant minutes and getting recognized at the Big 12 level, still close enough to home to have strong support networks and not be scared off by the winters, and end up leaving the program - I think it would truly be time to panic.
have you ever got caught outside In a strong rainfall? Yes or NO. If it"s yes, then you might half felt the pane of hard(tought) rain on you head. If it hurt"s then it"s tough. Yes or no. Okay I'm right and you know it.
So alothough you attempt"ed to say you didn"t understnad, now you do. Fair enough? -
Re: Dwight Buycks
So we're looking to bring this kid in for next season?

Re: Dwight Buycks
To clear up some confusion...Buycks will only have 2 years to play (will not be here this fall).
