Hustle and Drive

Has anyone noticed an interesting characeristic in two of our three late signees in the write-ups? Both players, Christopherson and Pomlee have been described as people with hustle and drive. Do you think adding these two players was shoring up a concern that was less about playing time and more about intensity?

Through the articles I'm reading and posts I see, it just sounds like McDermott is trying to add players with a little bit more attitude and intensity. With Rashon now leaving, do you think that maybe a concern? Maybe he is looking for that next person that will step up and force other players to play harder than they might be used to.

Please, let me know if I am off base here.

I would bet he wants players who are juggernauts. You cant pussyfoot around in the big 12. He wants bangers with confidence.

At times we looked timid this last season. Well ok alot of the time.

I expect you are totally on the mark. Aggression is needed. Jerrill Crayton of Bellevue in Nebraska had that desire in th final game. Pomlee did the same in Iowa. I felt we lacked an attitude last year except when Jiri got mad.

A kid with some raw talent and a work ethic could be a great contributor now and especially down the road.

I thought in the last few games that Brackins showed he could play with some attitude. Hope it carries over and continues to increase.

It just seems with all this talk about why we signed this guy and what is he going to contribute. I think if anything he wants someone who is going to get on the floor for loose balls, hit the boards hard for rebounds and use them as players that will get playing time if the starters don't do the same.

We're going to need hustle next year for obvious reasons, but also since we lost Cory Johnson, who could always be counted on for this.
